Hi,
I'm guessing the answer to this question changes depending on what buy in level you're playing.
So in a 50$ on pokerstars what are people stacking off with pre flop vs unknown opponents at the 20 and 30 bb levels, assuming equal stacks.
For example you have TT on the bb, opponent raises, you re raise and he shoves or 4 bets, is it fine to stack off with the tens or it's a fold?
Is there any point trying to make an adjustment like if they shove then call with tens but if they 4 bet then fold them, on the basis they're more likely to 4 bet shove ak but 4 bet smaller with aa or kk?
Basically what are people's upper or lower boundaries for stacking off pre early in the game?
In cash I think TT would be a standard stack off pre but every time I've done it in one of the sit and go's the guy's had an over pair so I'm wondering if I should b playing tighter or if I'm getting standardly coolered, obviusoly once the bb goes up to 50 the tens become to strong to fold.
Thanks.
Against an unknown in 10/20 I'd be looking to stack off with AQ+ and JJ+. Against an unknown in 15/30 I'd be looking to stack off AQ+ and 99. I don't see people jamming AJ nearly as much as I do with hands like 88, which is why I opted to keep it as AQ+ in both blind levels.
I wouldn't be raise/folding the weaker hands, I just wouldn't raise them in the first place unless I had a plan for if the villain shoves. There will definitely be some disagreement with this.
Thanks xSCWx, I get what ur saying my 3 betting range should be hands I'm gonna call a shove with or hands I can just easily fold, my flat calling range can then have some pretty strong hands in it as well.
Against an unknow I guess his style makes a difference for how many hands I'm not gonna call a shove with I can 3 bet, if he flats my 3 bets and floats me on the flop a lot or 4 bets me pre a lot then I keep it to a tight range, if he folds lots pre then I can open it up and start flatting more big hands.
Not watched any of your vids yet cos I just signed up the other day and I play on pokerstars and euro sites and not full tilt, I'm gonna check some out later though.
