Hi,Four fast questions.1) Call range in 1st hand when losing fish made all in from bt (50s regular speed)2) Call range in 1st hand when losing fish made all in from bt (50s turbo speed)3) Call range in 1st hand when reg made all in from bt (50s regular speed)4) Call range in 1st hand when reg made all in from bt (50s turbo speed) Peace!
do you really see regs open shove at 50$?75BB deep , I cannot see a hand to open-shove profitably.Let me now if i'm wrong about that.
It happend few times. But whatever - maybe U can just write U range for fishes. For example will U call with 77 etc.Peace!

I would only risk my tournament life on the first hand against an unknown opponent with AA.PaulIB_FishingFirst Hand Nit
IB_Fishing if your not joking then that is definitely a leak to call with only AA when so many other monsters and decently strong hands are ahead of his open shoving range. Don't think about it as if you lose the tournament the world will end :) Take you +EV spots when you can, don't throw away value because you don't want to sweat an all in situation.
I try to get it in with 99+ and AQo+ vs any player without reads
I agree with the last post, I think 99+ and AQ+ is a good range. You're going to see a lot of low pocket pairs and weak aces shoving preflop expecting worst to call. However, if you are calling with 22-88 you are going to get into many coinflip situations where if you are a winning player probably would have been better off playing the opponent through the game instead of literally performing a $50 coinflip.I would never say I'm only calling with AA as another poster did. That is essentially saying that you are putting your opponent on AA and only AA. Any pocket pair can call Ax and be extremely profitable if (x=card lower than your pocket pair).
NewFF I was not joking but I can see your point when looking at it from an EV view vs a tournament life view. I am still very surprised that you all would call with the above mentioned range against an unknown opponent on the first hand of the tournament. I am new to heads up sit and gos so I certainly can't say you all are wrong, but I am very, very surprised. Will most definitely have to get around to giving this more thought. Appears my thought process might need upgrading. PaulIB_FishingShocked and Amazed at answer
Although I play lower than the $50s my range is also 99+ AQ+ I think a look at SS would help the situation. If villain is a huge fish I'd snap call this range I might consider tightening it up slightly if it's a winning player. Prob not tho, I'm too much of a station!
Would you use the same range for shoving a 1st hand where you open raised, got 3bet?
After going over everything in this thread I just can't see calling an all in, on the first hand, against an unknown opponent. I can't see it being positive EV because there is now way to evaluate opponent's shoving range. I am sure there is a great chance you guys are correct in your view, but I just can't see it.This threads makes me want to shove AA the one time out of a thousand that I get it on the first hand against a good player! PaulIB_FishingJust a big first Hand Nit against an unknown opponent
cause he can have lots of shit and just want to win the first hand to be cool.... he can shove A5, KT, Q8, 33, etc etc. So calling with AQ when he shoved A5 is pretty good :)
I'm a $50 reg and 99+ / AQo+ sounds like a good range for me in a Turbo. There was also some thread about this on 2+2 a couple of months ago, btw.Regarding a $50 reg openshoving first hand, that should never happen unless the guy played you before and has some reads on how to exploit you - ie. you call way too light in this situation.@dzikijonny:Betting 3bet the very first hand is a totally different situation because of the dead money in the pot and your fold equity. If you call an openshove with 55, then it's a coinflip at best, but if you shove 22 first hand of the match over someone's 3bet, then you still have some ~45% equity when called, but you pick up the dead money in the pot each time he's folding to your shove, which makes this +EV.For instance, if you think the guy is simply 3betting you because he thinks aggression is cool and he can push you around by being aggressive, but you think he can still fold against a shove, then shoving something like 22+ / AQo+ / AJs+ / KQs+ should be extremely profitable. It all depends on whether he's actually 3betting you super light and whether he can fold the air part of his range to your shove, though. You don't want to shove deuces if the guy 3bets you with 73o and snaps it off, for instance.
