Full Tilt points are useless?

My understanding is that if you if you buy something from the store it holds a cash value.  This cash value is then subtracted from your weekly rakeback.Recently I became a "prestigious" blackcard member which earns me double the points, but really this doesn't mean anything to me since anything I buy will just be subtracted from my rake. Is this all true? This leads me to believe the appropriate action would be to hold onto all your points until the day you were going to permanently quite playing on tilt then cash them in.  I have heard that if you reach a certain frequent player level on stars you can receive something like 50% of your rakeback.  It's crazy to me that the underdog site offers fewer cash promotions.

it is useful

If you are black card member then you can buy cash bonuses in the black card store. So full tilt points are useful. Sure you get deducted from the MGR as you clear the bonus but you still get a lot of value. If you bought a 100 dollar bonus, then you received a value of 100*.73=73 dollars, subtracting the MGR hit. So you are better off.

Thanks for your response

Thanks for your response nomboo.  So your saying they only keep the 27% that you would get in rakeback?  Are you sure they don't do this for an extended period of time until you have paid all of it back?  example: If I tend to make $500 in rakeback a week, then purchase the $5000 cash reward I will not receive rakeback for 10 weeks?

I've buy a jersey and they

I've buy a jersey and they took me like 20-30$ rakeback, so no big deal, a jersey definetely worth 20-30$ in my opinion. But yeah its kind of pretty gay that they take rakeback... they could give them for FREE... asshole

1k points will reduct 5 $

1k points will reduct 5 $ from your netrake so for example you generate 100$ rake your and spend 1k points you will recieve 27% from 95$.rb is also deducted from cash out fees and tourney overlays.the bonus will be reducted from your netrake also. the benefit at ftp is that you will recieve your 27% rb at the first penny you spend there at stars you have to put a lot of work in to reach a certain status.i am not sure about this but i have in memory that as long as you dont reach at least platinum on stars you better of with ftp.ftp has changed from dealtrake to contributed so for cash players it could be differnt now.

its not relevant for sng

its not relevant for sng because you pay your fee for every tourney you play.on cash dealt rake is you earn some of the rake even if you not in the hand as long as you recieved cards.contributed you have to be involved in the pot.

Basically the value of the

Basically the value of the points isn't as large as you initially think, but they are not useless.  Most things you buy shouldn't deduct more from your MGR than you'd pay for them, provided you want them.  But no, it is not like Stars where it is essentially all your pts that you are paying and that's all that goes into it.At the end of the day you should be thinking of your points in terms of value anyways, Stars points should translate into a cash value and so should FTP points, you can treat them as bonuses to reward yourself from there, but be honest with yourself up front that you can essentially turn points into cash if you so choose to, one way or another (game tickets, cash bonuses, store items you'd be buying otherwise, gifts you'd have to buy otherwise, consierge and so on).
