Unknown player 3x's on the button you have A9. Shove or fold? Does being suited make a big difference. What about small pp 22 - 55How do you deal with small pocket pairs at 20-25 BB. Is an open shove on the button acceptable? What do you do with them in the big blind facing a double? Thanks in advance.
1, A9 less then 20bb deep = always shove on 3x raise, if you dont have a reads that his 3x means very strong hand.2. More then 20bb deep it's shove or call, dont think it's good to fold ever. If you just call with A9, you can flop TPTK (9xx board) enough % of time. Siuted hand adding 2-3 % to your equity.3. It's much better to shove small PP, not flat call.4. You could open shove small PPs, it will be +EV action, according to Nash Eq table, even if you 25bb deep.
20-25 bb's if this is his first raise I'd fold both A9 and a low pp. It's just been my experience that the 3x raise is normally very strong. If it was a min raise I'd shove either.

so you dont even just call pf? vs 3xbb with A9o I think I would call with A9 if sb is 3xbb first hand he is probably not that good of a player if he 3xbb first hand.and I dont think we can say that his 3xbb is 44+ AT+ it can be so much more then that a lot of players bluff the A also especially in super turbos.
