How do you guys do this? When you have enough buyins to next level do you then take one match from that level and if you lose it go back to lower level or what?

One BI can never be a good

One BI can never be a good shot!
It depends very much on how important your BR-money is and your mentality.

If you want to move up fast and have no problem juming up and down i would say move up when you have 50BI for a level, and down again if you drop 15-20BI.

If you are more conservative then maybe you should wait untill you have 100BI, but then beable to take a "longer" shot of 20-30BI before moving down.

Its very individual and the most(only) important thing imo is that you can afford to lose at least 10-15BI when taking a shot.

So I usually play having at least 35BI for my level. For example playing $5 buyin games and then moving to $10 do I need $350(35BI) + $100-$150(10-15BI)?

What im talking about is

What im talking about is total bankroll, not bankroll +shotmoney or anything like that.
But if you feel more comfortable with that system its actually not a bad idea, its pretty much the same thing but just said in another way.

-> When i moved up to $7 i did it with 50BI($350) and i would move down again if going under 30BI($210)
