My new poker journey

Hi my name is Calvin (20) and Im from Holland.
After playing 45-180man sngs for a long long time. Im going to make a transition to hu hyper turbos, because the most of my session are waay too long and playing hu hyper turbo i can easily do more things outside poker, like going to gym and doing more things for school etc :D

I also have a few questions to the members.
- What about the volume at hypers? In 180mans, the ''normal'' volume was like 1000-1500 games a months.
- How about the strategy, can i use the same strategy at 180mans?
- Which videos should i purchase? Im not a noobie for sure, but im not also a crushing player.
- Bankrollmanagement?

My goal for the first two months:
- Starting at the lowest stake and I would be satisfied with some profit.
- Making decent volume, I think i will be playing only at the weekends.
- I will use my same schedule when i was used to play 45/180mans.
- Study the basics.

I dont have plans after those two months, I will see how my game develop.

Thanks for help guys :D

just watch the free material

just watch the free material on this site for hu hypers. It should be enough to get you started and just talk with others, discuss hands, ranges etc. i dunno what to tell you about anything else you ask. brm is a matter of opinion and im probably to nitty in this category. I have found any videopack useful which i have watched and havent heard any negative feedback about any of them. I wouldnt play the lowest limit for 2 months straight though. this i can pretty much gurantee will be a waste of your time. I would only play that limit for like 500 games to get a feel for the format + the rake at 1.5s is ridiculous(yourwinrate will probably go up when you hit 3.5s just because of rake difference/competition has little difference between the 2).

Small update day 1 ( 14th- 15th Feb)

Hey all :D

A small update of my grind this weekend.
I've studied for 2 hours this weekend, like looking at the forums and watch videos of zzztilt.
Also, I really wanted to grind. I wanted to play 250 games but didnt work out. Why? Because the fact that im one tabling means i can see every action of mine, and when i got a bad beat my emotions came above. I didnt have those emotions when i was mass tabling though :p
On the other side,  i feel really comfortable about my game at the hyper turbos. Everything went well, the only thing im not comfortable with is, limping in or out of position, then flopping bottom pair and villian bet full pot. I was thinking like ehhh... even though i might have the best or better hand than my villian, how am i going to play turn and river? I will post more HH of mine in the future, so no worries :D
My results are looking great i think, but can it better or its okay. Whats your opnion guys?
Also the rake on 3.5 are really high i think, I really want so to know if its still possible to earn some money with RB and stuff.
Last thing, how many games should you guys advice to play per month?

I would say 2000 Games per

I would say 2000 Games per month are a good balance. But with one tabling is it really hard to get it . At the 3,50 level of course its possible to make some money and climb up the stakes. I would recommend a 100 buy in bankroll for your yourney. So if you have a roll of 700 climb up to the 7s and if you got 75 buy in move down. But you have to stay on the grind. And dont let get you down from the ups and downs that will come sooner or later. But right now your results look good but you have to play a bigger sample and then can you really see what you Roi is. And when you feel comfortable enough with your play start two tabling too earn more profit and get better.

Hi guys,

Hi guys,

Im back after a loooong loong time!
I didnt have the time to blog so im going to write as much as i can.

As you can see. Im playing hu huper turbos for almost 3 months. Im happy with the results, but the sample size can be better.
Another thing i notice about myself, is that i feel really comfortable playing 7's and having an edge even on regs at this stake. Also, i really want to challange myself to win 30 buyin per day with 8 hours grinding when the traffic is high, but is that realistic though?
I really want to make more volume, but im just way to busy with college so i can grind at Saturday and Sunday :/

The last thing i want to know. Im going to graduate(i hope), but i dont think i have any motivation to find a job. I really want to go pro after this, but can i do that?
If its possible to go pro, what do i need to go pro? And Im curious how much money i can earn each month, i hope at least 1.2k$ per month if im playing full time(8 hours per day)

see ya later guys :D

pro

He

I wouldnt set $ goals in poker because you cant control it. Rather set time or volume goals then monetary ones.

Before going pro you should play full time for some time and then check if you still like it before burning any bridges. If you can take some time off after you graduate there is imo nothing wrong with trying it if you have some money saved for rent/food etc.

Not thinking result oriented

Thanks for your tip flipstar.

Im still living with my parents so i dont have that pressure to make money to pay the rent etc. Im just really curious how it is to play poker full time.
Also i really want to see some see some stats/graphs at 7's and 15's, how it really looks like etc.

Tips are always welcome

Another small update

Heeey guys,

Im here again for a small update. As you can see my results on this picture, the volume is quitte low the last month. The reason why i didnt play that much was scoop tournaments and the other reason was I felt "burned out". I try to play as much as i can, but for now, im going to focus on college for the next 5 weeks (yay!) and going to grind full time for a decent amount of time.

There are few things im going to do:
-Find a coach who crushed the low-mid stakes HU HT
-When im going to play full time, im going to update my blog every session.
-Playing 8 hours a day combined with fitness and getting my drivers licence also play 1.5k games a month( is that realistic though?)
-Maybe to do a propbet challenge.
-Im also planning to treat this as my full time job. I expect to make 300-350euros net a month. Im not sure about this because im not planning to work at a lab( just dont like it). But if this doesnt work out, then i will go back to school.
