new kid looking for advice

hey everybody, been lurking here for a while now thinking about making the switch over to HUSNGs, iv always loved HU but iv always worried it was a dieing breed mostly because of the toxic negative guys you see posting about poker being dead on 2+2 and the likes....

Iv been playing the $1.50 hypers at stars the last 2 days and im enjoying myself, few questions.

1. im a total beginner so i was planning on putting in 5k or so at the $1.50s while i learn and then going from there? is the rake fine or should i be aiming to move up ASAP?

2. what sort of ROI should i be happy with after a 5k sample? what sorts of ROI is average for most decent regs

3. any reccomendations on where to start learning? im reading the ebook atm and plan on moving on to will tiptons book after that, meanwhile im browsing the free videos, any specific videos would be a great help.

Here are my results so far

Tiny sample so far, im gonna be 1 tabling while im learning and probably doing around 50-60 SNGs a day.

Should i be more focused on my EV on the graph? a friend told me its meaningless at HU because it doesnt account for range vs range, this true?

thanks for any help

It's only meaningless because

It's only meaningless because the sample is pretty small. Over time, your EV will give you a great idea of how you're doing.

Pbogz hyper pack is a great start for a beginner. Lotte's new HUSNG pack should be the next one you watch after that, once you know you're going to stick with HUSNGs for awhile.

For free videos, the Currr, Coffeeyay and Pbogz videos are good watches.

While the eBook is good, the

While the eBook is good, the Will Tipton books consist of dense theory, and aren't at all relevant except for games between regs at much higher stakes.

I'd differ slightly on the best course of action, I'd actually get some one-on-one coaching with PBogz right off the bat. I've been working with him for a few years now, and I think it's much better value ($70/hr) per dollar than videos.

Hope this helps

appreciate the reply, ill

appreciate the reply, ill definately finish the eBook, you think i should just give the tipton book a miss then? iv bought the pbogz starter pack and was planning on moving on to the Lenya one next, coaching is definately an option but it seems like alot of money spent already considering im only starting with the $1.50s, im by no means cash strapped but i dont wanna be that guy spending a fortune buying everything and not really getting much value from it...

Think ill give the coaching a shot before moving on to the Lenya package, cheers
