when called in end game shove usually Im a dog

So I'm finding out that while utilizing the end game strategy I find myself picking up a couple of big blinds.   But when I am called I am usually way behind in the hand or at best 40-60.    I lose some games that I feel I should have won.  I am concerned about this.  Is there a strategy to min raise with a c-bet on flop to take down the pot or are the blinds way to big?  I am new to end game strategy.

How deep do you start to

How deep do you start to shove normally?

Give us a few hand examples if possible as well and we can better answer your question.

Generally speaking, you want to minraise as long as your opponent isn't shoving over you a lot and/or IS folding a lot preflop or on the flop to c-bets (this is a great time for lowering your c-bet size as well, though it is super dependent).

If you're getting shoved over a lot with a minraise but still find yourself deeper than you'd like to start shoving (say, 15bbs) then try to utilize a limp.  As strange as it may seem to us thinking players, many villains often will shove over a minraise much wider than a limp.  This allows you to see flops in position and often just take them down with a 50-75% sized c-bet.
