Cross-linked from my post in 2p2... cause well... I love video games
if anybody has not played alot of old video games, here is a list of some of the greatest:
NES: Mike Tyson's Punchout
Mario (1-3)
Final Fantasy 1
SNES: Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Super Mario RPG (sooooo good)
PSX: Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy Tactics
N64: Zelda: Ocaraina Of Time
Mario Kart 64
Super Mario 64 / Goldeneye (both fantastic, can't choose)
I could list like a billion more on each system, but I think if I had to pick 3 reallllyyy solid picks on all 4, these would almost always make the list
edit: btw if your only gonna play a few, the all stars of the list are def:
Super Mario RPG
Super Metroid
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy Tactics
Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
Zelda: Ocaraina Of Time
all are SOOOOOOo soooo sooo !#@QW)+$*!@n good, Goldeneye is obviously amazing, but I dont think it translates as well as the rest of these do to standards of these days, and they were all just so !_@+$(n epic
Also, for games i'm playing these days, I play Quake at www.quakelive.com (free, come look me up sometime, name is Synt4x there), and also use www.kongregate.com when im tilted or waiting action in HU SNG, cause it's the best structures flash game site ever ;)
on 360 you can find me playing Gears of War 2 (though not very often there days), and I play under bjp_Synt4x, but I have a bunch of games, so if anyone wants to throw out a challange sometime in anything, post it here ;)
Addict!

haha for sure, as I mentioned in the 2p2 thread, I spent sooooooooo much time playing Everquest, it can def. be a HUGE time sink
Agree on Goldeneye, had this on an N64 emulator stunning game
PS2
PES 5 - Landmark transition away from FIFA series
Final Fantasy X
Amiga
Elite II: Frontier - Time sink....
Sensible World of Soccer - possibly the most comprehensive football game ever, every league, every player, hours and hours
Settlers - Another absolute timesink of my teenage years
Syndicate - Violent, intense, wicked
Formula 1 Grand Prix - Of course I could have been a racing driver you know....
Wing Commander - Class, way better than any Star Wars game, and what star wars games should have been
Cannon Fodder - War - What is it good for?
Sim City - Simple, easy, addictive
Ok, repost from 2+2, but it's pure awesomeness!

WTF guys, how can you forget Secret Of Mana. 2nd best game of all time to the unpopular...
Shining Force II: The Ancient Seal (for MegaDrive)
never owned a nintendo 8-bit system :/
did however own an amiga and I spent alot of time with kick off, batman and I remember I used to get really "tilted" after failing at the addams family
when I got my own pc back in 98 "real-life" ended. These are the titles I've spent most time with:
Delta Force (best fps-shooter ever)
Quake3 (still having great fun with this amazing game on quakelive.)
Counter-Strike (When I first moved away from my mom I did nothing else than play this game, we were 6-8 people that would play pretty much all the time we were awake and meet up at 4-5 in the morning on a local gasstation to talk shit and have a bagel lol)
Starcraft (Still play now and then but never really got any good but it's still the best RTS game ever made by far)
Warcraft 3
Star Wars Galaxies (Great game before they decided to ruin it)
World Of Warcraft (Still play now and then but nothing compared to the hours I used to put in)
I just watched King Of Kong a couple of weeks back and for you video game geeks out there, If you haven't seen it: Shame on you!
haha, had not seen the mount-for-sex picture btw and you're right. It is pure awesomeness
gotta give this a +1 , Secret of mana was sick, so was Illusion of Gaia (ever played it skates??), never played shining force II tho
I got into poker because of StarCraft (ElkY and Rekrul inspired me), but loved:
Donkey Kong Country 1-3 (SNES)
SMB3 (NES)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega Genesis)
GoldenEye 64
Skate 1 and 2 (Xbox 360)
Diablo II
Sim City 2000
havent played enough of Skate 2 yet but have heard awsome things, was a hugeee Diablo 2 fan and can't wait for D3 to come out now that it's announced. Also Strarcraft 2 (1st chapter) will be out later this yr, so anybody looking to pwn me at it, bring it :)
PS2:
Tony Hawk
GTA
SSX Tricky (the bomb if you're stoned...10 TIMES MULTIPLIER!!!!)
Nintendo:
Super Mario
Super Mario Land
Duck Hunt (lol)
PC:
Unreal Tournament
Counterstrike
Wing Commander
Civilization (OMG that game eats your private life)
Tomb Raider
Also, one new game that I have to mention is Crysis...stealth/strength/speed suit ftw!!

Double post, my bad.
ohhh yea, it's comin out :)
also pwned Final Fantasy 1, getting through FF2, only like 8 billion hours left of final fantasies til im through them all ;p
also been RAPING Quake Live, and Resident Evil 5, w00t :)
RBI Baseball and Contra
/thread
rofl @ /thread, as sweet as RBI Baseball was, Baseball 2020 or 2021 or whatever it was the nutssssssss and IMO crushes it ;p
edit: LOL, okok, I just emulated RBI baseball for a minute, and it IS sweet and hilarious, and reminds me of 10 yard dash... but there was a baseball game for NES or SNES (I think SNES) that u could like... throw the most absurd pitches ('lightning / fireball pitch, etc., etc.'), and me and my brother spend so much time playing it, but I totally forgot the name
edit2: Forgot to verify, Contra was obv the absolute nuts
Some older games I really loved:
Metroid 2 (Gameboy), Dune (PC), Dune 2 (PC), X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter (PC), Doom 1+2 (PC), Diablo (PC), GTA 1 (on PS), Street Fighter 2 (played it on Amiga), Syndicate (on Amiga), Monkey Island (PC)... ah forget it, there's just too many, I've been gaming since the C64 and very first Gameboy (*remembers byuing the bundle with those famous earplugs and tetris*)
Games I played over a long time:
Counter-Strike (since first Beta, played it for years in leagues and lan tournaments), Emperor, Hellgate: London (while it lasted after the major bugfixing) and I beat Far Cry 1 in single player on the hardest mode like 25-30 times. Also I played a lot of Quake 3 but basically just as an aiming warmup before a Counter-Strike match because I could hit like hell then because everything seemed like slowmotion after some CPMA or RocketArena.
Games I enjoyed the last weeks/months:
Pure, NBA Street Homecourt, Burnout Paradise, Ninja Gaiden, God Of War, Devil May Cry and desperately waiting for God Of War 3, Prototype, Darksiders and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3.
niceeeeeee, some great games listed here :). If you ever want to play some quake together, add me on www.quakelive.com , my name is Synt4x , I plan only Clan Arena (equivalent of Rocket Arena), but Godddddddd do I miss those awsome Ra2 and Ra2 maps :).
I also played Hellgate: London a bunch before it shut down, shame it got axed =/, I kinda was wanting to play it the other day and then remember it's dead
as for your last weeks/months games. Pure, NBA Street Homecourt, BO: Paradise, Ninja Gaiden, God of War, allllll very awsome games, super good choices for console games :)
I was really sad when they shut down the Hellgate servers. There's currently a petition going on... because Hanbit would like to reopen the gates in NA and Europe but Namco still has the distribution rights in these regions and won't let go off them although they don't do anything anymore. It's too sad that the game was released with so many bugs and lost a lot of people during the first weeks. After they fixed the problems and improved the game it was just so much fun and I really miss my marksman who was THE killer on the european server. I had some of the most awesome gear (especially my augmented crit rifle), had over 90% critical hit chance with multipliers (causing over 1300% default damage), killed moloch in like 4-5 seconds when going there alone and went through "the wild" like a walk in the park. it was just pure ownage. I have to stop thinking about it or else I might start to cry ;)
Has anyone checked out worldgaming.com ?
Finally a place to play for money :)
Anyone wanna play FIFA for rollz let me know :)
hrmm, have NOT checked it out... but interesting, gonna hafta see what games I can start getting profitable at ;p
I visited the website. But I think I'll have to pass. The times I have been playing videogames more seriously are gone und usually I'm not that good at sports games (I usually play those live vs. friends when they are around). It's a nice idea though.
About some older games. Any of you guys remember North & South and Ports of Call. Those are classics as well, I remember playing them a lot with a friend.
just got punch out on the wii ... cause I lovedddddd the old one ;p, it's actually suprisingly true to the old one in the style of play, and you can hold the controller side ways like an NES controller... havent played much of it... but it was well worth the $50 when I stomped Soda Popinksi's !@#+)$!@n FACEEEEEEEE IN :), HATEDDD that guy in the old one
