using odd lines for advantage

ie. shoving with a TPTK on a board that you would usually check when a draw misses hoping to get a call

using randomly jumbled together lines and shoving to induce folds or calls? is it possible seems like its best to take a messed up odd line with a strong hand hoping to get called light

its hard to explain but say

check minraiseing flop

check calling turn

then open shoving a river

Taking odd lines is great

Taking odd lines is great against a thinking player when set up well.

fancy play syndrome

Just always bear in mind that your goal is to win money. The question of whether a line is tricky or not shouldn't even be considered in your evaluation. If the line will earn you more money, then it's the right line. Not to mention, even in heads-up play, solid ABC poker wins most of the money on the table. As long as you can explain the reasoning behind a play you're taking, a coach or somebody with more experience will always be able to say either "I like it" or "Well, here's where that reasoning is wrong..."

I think it's also a question of your $/hr - if you always take super tricky line then imo you'll spend a lot more time thinking about it, so you can't play as many tables and you'll also get tired more quickly, so you have to end your sessions sooner.
In addition to that, you most likely need to remember all your trickly lines for at least the entire session to avoid giving away any tells or leveling yourself, so this may also reduce the number of games you may play per hour or per session.
