Sometimes I'll just pull open a match and try to get a feel for the way one of the players is playing, what type of player they are, how I'd play them.
Anybody else do this? Is there much value in it? Maybe I should be trying to put these guys on a hand, as well.
If I see someone play and feel like I've figure them out, I try to play them right after to test my read.
Any other ways you could improve your playing skills watching others play?
** Geez, just re-read this before posting and I sound like a creepy poker stalker! LOL!
I regularly stalk Spamz and Primo...oh, and I sometimes rail Micky as well to get an edge in our spew sessions :D
I definitely think it's beneficial to rail good players and pick up some interesting lines you can take.
If they take special (weird?) lines, I try to take note of how the villains react to it.

I get how watching better players can improve your games, give you someone to emulate, etc. That's essentially what the videos on the site are about, except that we get a glimpse of their thinking.
I guess I'm really wondering if one can get value from watching players on or about the same level?
Small warning: Just because you see some highstakes guy take a certain line against a certain villain, doesn't mean you can just copy that. You have to pick the right spots, and the right villains. Otherwise you might outlevel yourself ;)

I like watching the 2k+ game when they run. Obv just for fun. Some of these guys are really sick.
