Roles reversed advice?

Also... What if I roles were reversed.  Say you were in BB with those ranges of hands and you are raised.  Would you call/re-raise?

What if you were 3bet to 900?

Sorry if this is HUSNG 101... still learning y'all.

You played it fine. I'm

You played it fine.

I'm generally looking to get it in with 99+.

KQ is the only possible exception.  If a guy 3bets a lot, I'd probably just 4bet the KQ.

If you're OOP and he's not going to call a lot of your 3bets and his 4bet range is strong, just flat call KQ preflop to a raise.

It's all about the type of opponent you're playing, but at 50bb stacks or thereabout, you're usually not folding 99+ preflop vs any players, particularly in the lower stakes games.

And same goes for AK-AQ. AJs

And same goes for AK-AQ.

AJs can be a cutoff vs some players, but usually in the lower stakes you're good to get it in with AJs preflop as well (and certainly against any aggressive/bad players).

We all know that there is a

We all know that there is a big difference between shoving and calling a shove.

On the first hand I am never calling a shove with less then JJ or AK.

To be honest I don't love putting my stack in with AK either as many times you are flipping where in fact at the 6-10 and sometimes 20$ level I think I have anedge on the avg opponent. Anyway after Rypac said he never folded AK preflop I am more inclined to call.

I think it's a deceptive

I think it's a deceptive situation to many.

You can be flipping 90% of the time and crushing 10% of the time and it's an incredibly profitable situation.

Also the game is over fast, so if there's any edge at all it's going to have a positive impact on your hourly rate, which is really more important than your per game edge.

Well it should be more important than your per game edge.  In reality, most people (even good pros) can't handle the high variance and high stress associated with a very small edge, even if it's a profitable edge.  But that's what it takes to be at the top these days, since all the action is in turbo speeds and usually between competent opponents, a thin edge is going to be more than enough to put you at the top of the leaderboards if you can maintain that and handle the ups and downs.  You won't see guys with 10% long term ROIs in the 2ks anymore (I don't even recall if we ever did see that anyways).  Mess with the variance calculator on this site for some thin edges at the 1k+ buyins and look at the disgusting variance that often ensues :)
