Hi all,My name is Maxwell, but I go by mersenneary across sites. I'm very excited about joining the HUSNG.com team - it's a great group of players who have a way of explaining things I really respect. A little about me:I'm mainly a 100s guy who has maintained a 10% ROI at the reg speeds over 5000 games, mostly 3-4 tabling. Poker has helped put me through school at Princeton, where I graduate in two weeks (yes!). I'm completing the Teacher Preparation Program here for mathematics, and I that's one aspect of me that I hope will shine through - I'm a professional teacher as well as a poker player. That means that I don't just expect to speak my poker mind and then think it's your fault if you don't understand it: Being a teacher means it's on me to make sure you get to where you want to be.The mantra of education is "Know Your Students!", so I'd like to have a lot of interaction with you all. Comment on my videos when you like something or when you're not completely getting a concept yet. If you'd like, keep a blog on the site - I'll be checking through those to get a better idea of who makes up HUSNG.com membership so that I can orient my videos accordingly. Suggest ideas for future videos in the forums, I've already taken up one of Newff's suggestions there. My first two videos here have been on shortstacked play and reg-on-reg tactics, and I'm grateful for such a positive response. What you can continue to expect:-More targeted videos to specific concepts, so that videos don't seem like a smattering of things to try to piece together. For example, I'll filter my database and talk about the intricacies of different common tricky situations, like when you 3-bet pocket pairs and an overcard falls on the flop.-Creative lesson plans (and I don't mean only powerpoint summaries). I do almost all of the audio for my videos after reviewing the silent recording, as that way I can both be concise and direct in my advice and incorporate other tools to illustrate the point.-A no-holds barred approach to making videos - I don't believe in holding any information back or keeping certain tricks for myself. If I've found something useful, I'm going to share it.Again, I'm happy to be a part of the HUSNG.com team, and look forward to contributing to what the site has to offer. All the best, mers
Hi, welcome to husng :DSo, I have a couple of suggestions to the videos that I think it would be interesting:Make one series which videos would be kind of:1- Playing 10-22bb deepa) Preflopb) Flopc)Turn/River (?)2- Playing 20-35bb deepa) ...c) turnd) river3- Playing 35-60bb deep...4- Playing 60-100bb deep ....Where you would make a video for each 1a, 1b etc... select several interesting hands vs different kind of opponents, explain how you would play the hand, and what would change vs other different kind of opponents. Also, dont just choose 'interesting' hands, focus more on standard hands.Hopelly this is helpfull.
I really enjoyed your first vid. Will come up with suggestions when I can think of some.thanks.
