So I need some help when it comes to multi-tabling. I have been playing HU sngs for a while and im at the 55 dollar level now. I am rolled to move up to 110 but I instead want to start multi-tabling which I think will be more profitable in the long run anyways. Ive tried to mult-table a little bit but im not real good at it and for the 100 or so games I did it I had a 2% roi as opposed to 9% single-tabling. Does anyone have any suggestions for multi-tabling? Or are tehre any coaches that feel comfortable coaching multi-tabling?
Hi,I wouldn't recommend coaching for these, at least not online. If you have any good poker players, even if they aren't husng players, that you know in real life, it might help to have them come by and sweat you while you play, listen to you talk through decisions and make sure that you're focused.I have two suggestions that may help. I'm not much of a multi tabler, but I've found it much easier to do as I've improved my decision making, which seems to lead to a lot more decisions becoming "standard" and me having to focus a lot less on one table for an extended period. You'd be surprised how much of a difference that makes.1) Move down a few levels so you are absolutely not focusing on any of the money. Really try to focus on each table, take some notes as you're playing.2) Play a slower deal. If you play Stars, play regular speeds instead of turbos for a bit while you work on this, the deal is slower and the time bank longer, giving you more time to deal.A few other ones:- Try to play the same opponent on 2 tables. Not easy, I know, but it can help.- If you mess around with super turbos, try doing it there. It's easier to multi table if the effective stacks are in the 0-25 range, rather than the 0-75 range on each table, it makes your mental math a lot easier as far as recognizing effective stacks and common situations.- Load up a HUD. Don't rely on it, but if you forget some reads halfway through the match, especially things such as PFR, 3 bet %, VPIP and so on, it can really lead to some major mistakes and loss in edge. You may not realize a guy is playing 90% of hands OOP, so you might think a standard cbet facing a check raise should be a bluff reraise on a low card board (bc tighter OOP players miss those boards a lot more and may bluff them too often compared to how often they can have a hand, common spot to rebluff) when in actuality 53 type garbage is in their range and makes total sense for them to CR there. HUDs can help you when you have a brain freeze multi tabling, they will at least help you make a good decision a higher % of the time if you're getting lost. Obviously, long term you'll want to not have those brain freezes, but the HUD can help until then and it has a few other benefits. Just beware of relying on it or overutilizing it/reading into the numbers too often. Showdowns and board texture is so variable that HUD stats can be misinterpreted so easily in husngs.
