Is this a terrible turn shove or what? The guy is rated as a shark on sharkscope but, at much higher buyins. I actually was thinking of him as tight passive his stats (25 hands) sb vp/pfr 57/57 bb vp/pfr 55/18. I have already learned not to be intimidated by guys sharkscope stats. The thing that most affected my play was that I had put him down as a slow player because of how he played two hands. In one he check called bottom pair made trips and then only called and checked the river (out of position). And he checked called a flopped flush down to the river. He had 3-bet me preflop a couple of times. I had to figure he was on a draw when I moved in. Also a big part of my thought was that he would be doing this with any worse jack given my aggression during the match.
I dont see anything wrong with the way you played it. But I would just jam over the top of him if I think he has any naked 10's in his range.
Ya that was my thought too. I have to admit his aggressive action confused me. Let's say the hand had gone different. He check calls the river and then cr the turn. I think that is a fold. Also I would have folded if I hand checked the turn for pot control and he had shoved the river. What I love about this hand is that thinking about it really made me understand how checkcalling can look stronger than raising and betting.
yea man that's a super tough spot w/o any specific reads, very wet flop tho. However in a vacuum....A jam is still best though in terms of getting value from other Jx like KJ,QJ,10J and putting the maximum pressure on any combo draws he is fooling around with.(btw shiri appleby makes a great avatar)
First of all: Hello to everyone (my first post)I think there are many draws in his c/r-Range if he's a reg. When you add sets and any two pair to his range it makes it minimum break-even. I like the way you played it.
I have had the hots for Shiri ever since I found out that she was 21 not 16 when she was on Roswell.
