Where in the world would you move too to be a pro online poker player and why?

There are those threads about Thailand and that seems like a good place.  But, the time difference between Europe and the US is such you have to wake up at like 4 am.Hawaii would be good.  You could play during the day when everyone else is playing at night.  But, who the hell wants to play poker during the day in Hawaii!  I am thinking about moving to the West Coast.  Anyone else been thinking about where to move?

The Baltic States. Probably

The Baltic States. Probably as cheap as Thailand, good nightlife, nice euro food and girls, beautiful countrysides. Cheap flights to all major European cities. re. timezones, Europe is a pretty huge market in itself; no need to cater to US peak times imo.

Any thought about Croatia?

Any thought about Croatia?  Was in a book on where to retire.  Kind of thinking about Southern Cone i.e. Argentina, Uruaguy (?sp), Chile.  Reasonable costs for a place with 1st world infrastructure.

I live in Croatia and it's defo a nice place. You have quality tap water everywhere, sunny coast in the summer, snow in the winter, ppl are nice, girls are hot, and many ppl speak English. Also cost of living is pretty low for EU standards, $1k per month should be enough for most needs altho you need more to live a really balla life

EU standards? Croatia is not

EU standards in Croatia?Croatia is not a parto of EU so there are some legal issues when buying land and such, also, English is spoken poorly, properties near the coastline are expensive, other then the coasline Croatia ain't got much. You can't really enjoy snow cause there are no nice and modern ski resorts and other than the capitol Zagreb, the country is still in the 90' in developement.  I would prefer Italy, lots of donks on special Italian sites closed to everybody else, some of the worlds most beautifull ski resorts in the North and beautifull coastline in the south, Monaco is near, cheap flights, better food, EU country - less legal nonsense, rich history if you are in that kinda stuff...

Sounds nice. Haven't been

Sounds nice. Haven't been there but I hear it's well recovered after the war and is very touristy now and still cheap. Why not Malta? It will remove the language issue since people speak English there.

Hawaii is

Hawaii is expensive.Sometimes I watch house hunters intrernational with the girlfriend and they have some cool places for pretty good values (though security, accessibility and cost of living are likely highly factored into real estate prices).  Bali looks cool, as do a lot of south and central american episodes that I saw.I would absolutely visit a place before I thought about moving there though.

I've looked into this pretty

I've looked into this pretty extensively, the best choice I've found is Grand Cayman.  Time zone doesn't really matter, play at whatever rooms you want, easy to move money in and out, no income tax, great weather year round, fairly easy to work around immigration, good housing for pretty cheap compared to other Carribean countries, low crime rate, just an all around great place to live, I'm seriously thinking of doing it at some point.

SCW, isn't your sales tax

SCW, isn't your sales tax like 8 or 9% though?!  There's a reason there's no state income tax and it has to do with the fact they are on the border and it's so they can still collect from illegals afterall even illegals shop for goods which is extremely smart for Texas IMO.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica, isn't really that much cheaper the the US but you can surf in the morning year round then grind HUSNGS afterwards.  I just got back from a 9 day Costa trip via the Jet Blue Travel Pass (we hit Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, New York, Las Vegas, San Diego and LA in 30 days from Sept 7th to Oct 6th).  In a month I pick up the travels again and I am booking a one way ticket to Costa to begin grinding HU's on the beach!  Or maybe I will I will come home after a while if I get sick of the fact that they don't have street signs or addresses down there! In a sense the tentative plan is to follow in SpaceGravy's foot steps.  See his blog at  www.spacegravypoker.com!
