I'm dumb so if calculations are off that is the reason. In order to get SNE you need $181819 worth of rake (1mm vpp/5.5 vpp per $). I've just done some calculations assuming they only play one level of HUSNGs but they will likely be playing multiple levels (1ks as well as 2ks, I would think). For 5ks (turbo and regs both give same vpps) you need 1819 or ~5 a day.For 2ks you need 3637 in a year in order to hit SNE or ~10 a day.For 1ks you need 6061 in a year or ~16.5 a day.For 500s you need 9091 in a year or ~25 a day.I'm not entirely sure of the amount of games that these guys play in a day but it doesn't seem very likely if they are only playing HUSNGs.
If you are playing 330 days a year, 6 hours a day, then you need to pay $88 per hour in rake to gain SNE. Not impossible, but you would need to be very dedicated and play $110s and $220s.
it is possible to be SNE thru HUSNG however it's almost unrealistic if you don't play $200+. Even at 100s, you have to put in an insane amount of volume every day to reach SNE.
Frankthomas8 made SNE last year. Fishenzon may have also made it. I'm not sure if BCM ever made it, if he did not he came pretty close. Skates made it last year, but he played a lot of other games (though one game he played volume in wasn't a heavy FPP producer).I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. The main point is, all the guys mentioned play $230+, and it's more like they can grind $230 any time for heavy hours and play higher when feeling good. But they are all capable of playing consistent large volume.

I've heard that Skilled_sox made SNE in just 2 monts or so (in 2009).

And you might as well get a fracking job.
Plauzee recently got SNE only playing HU SNG.You can check out his blog.
If you are mid stake player, then it will be a crazy grind. Nothing is easy though.
Didn't Elky become the first SNE by grinding hu sngs?
But elky was grinding 10 man SNG not HU i think :)Elky is a machine ;)
mtvdeuem became SNE playing HUSNG from 200$ to 5k in 2009.
