Pokerstars lobbies

Dumb question:I haven't played in pokerstars for quite a while, just opened the lobby today and... do they really still only allow 1 lobby opened per level? No way, I imagine I'm not clicking something I should?

Hey Boulases, Thx, but I

Yes it's still that

Yes it's still that way. While I think there are some flaws to this, I actually think it's much better than FTP's system from a healthy husng population stand point. When you allow players to more easily game select at levels they wouldn't play if they had more of a chance to be sat by really good players, you end up really destroying the weaker players in the population. In heads up cash, you can be a marginal 200NL player and just sit 2kNL and wait for a fish, refusing action against anybody else that sits you.  This is horrible for the game, as you can imagine the 99th worst player out of 100 still making a profit by waiting for the 100th player (extreme but basic example) and refusing action against everybody else.Strangely, this is terrible for poker rooms, yet hasn't been fixed.  I'm not sure why it has not, even in places like 2p2 where there are more game selecting regulars in hu cash, there's still plenty opinions to the contrary and decent points being made to the poker room reps.

Well that makes sense. There

Well that makes sense. There must be a crazy war for respect at the higher limits though, right? For me I just find it uncomfortable, I don't game select, but it's just so easy to sit first and play whoever joins you, be it good or bad.I can definately see the merits of doing it this way though, hadn't thought of that.

There are some wars, but

There are some wars, but mostly the best players are aware of each other and rotate lobbies accordingly. At 1k+ levels there's some different things going on (some people letting others take lobbies, others rotating, others warring). The general pattern though is that weaker regs get attacked, even if they don't feel they are weak.  And obviously sometimes players think somebody is weak when they are better than them, but I've seen a lot of really good players being very aware of who is and isn't good and adjusting very well to that information (think shortsharpshock, h2olga type guys, our very own mersenneary and hokiegreg as well, among others).

I also like the current

I also like the current system.Only thing they could improve is adding some kind of a waiting list for the next empty lobby.  Sometimes, when there are a lot of other regs playing, it's hard to get an empty lobby and even if you immediately click on "Register for identical tournament", you often end up sitting against another reg.
