Villain I play against is aggressive postflop and calling alot preflop. I haven't 3bet him alot but I think he is capable of calling my 3bet. Now he shoves over my and vs this player I have a certain nobrainer. But what do you think about my play? Is it good to 3bet large to show you are willing to play for stacks with that kinda hand? I leave the result away so we won't go in result oriented thinking=)INo Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players$5.00+$0.25 Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter SBparrock2090 BBHero910 Effective Stacks: 30bb Blinds 15/30 Pre-Flop (45, 2 players) Hero is BB parrock raises to 90, Hero raises to 450, parrock goes all-in 2090, Hero goes all-in 460 Flop (3000, 2 players, 2 all-in) Turn (3000, 2 players, 2 all-in) River (3000, 2 players, 2 all-in) Final Pot: 3000
I think going a little smaller is slightly better, probably 360 or so for this stack size vs a villain that is both loose and aggressive against 3bets (or likely loose and aggressive vs 3bets).That still a 720 chip pot and 550 chips left in the effective stacks, more than an easy situation to handle that might get more calls/shoves than the larger size.
Okay and any flop we will shove right? Cause he is aggressive postflop, but vs a passive player? We cant check fold then right?
Looking at this hand i maybe found a big leak in my game.pls suppose we are not at the 15/30 blinds, but 20/40. Stacksize exactly like in the hand. Villain openraises to 80, we hold op hand (AJs).I often find myself pushing all in pre in this situation. Is the raise to 360 better because of villains calling lighter 360 than calling the push? Because I suppose we push the flop anyway, regardless of board. Or am I totally wrong...
yeah I think when you shove you only get called when you are behind. And I think you can get alot more value when you are 3betting then when you are shoving. Whe n you 3bet people will call you lighter and when youre shoving they call with a tight range. So hopefully this answer helped you a bit
I wouldn't blindly shove any flop, but yes, we'll get it in quite often one way or another (CR, check call, smaller bet with a call, open shove). Varying your play there based on exploiting your opponent fully is best unless you are playing a very experienced player or one that is very familiar with you.
