No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players$5 + $0.25 Heads Up Sit & Go Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter BBHero1420 SBSP591580 About 10 hands in, villain had 3x open raised 100% of buttons, but had folded several times to my own button opens, so i figured not to be a total lag. i wanted to look for a spot to 3-bet because of him raising so many buttons, but kind of got lost post flop when i did so with 55s. was this the wrong spot to 3-bet? How about the c-bet size? Thanks.Effective Stacks: 71bb Blinds 10/20 Pre-Flop (30, 2 players) Hero is BB SP59 raises to 60, Hero raises to 200, SP59 calls 140 Flop (400, 2 players) Hero bets 210, SP59 calls 210 Turn (820, 2 players) Hero checks, SP59 checks River (820, 2 players) Hero checks, SP59 bets 820, Hero folds Final Pot: 1640
Well I'm not very good at heads ups, but I'll give you my opinion.Since he is raising all his buttons, his range is any two cards. So 3 betting him is fine i tihnk. But once he calls and a flop like that comes up, I'd slow down because he likely has one of those cards. That's just my two unexperienced cents.

I think you played this hand absolutely fine. and its definately possible to play it that way. If you have the read your oppopnent is loose calling 3bets and floating and playing back a bit. than, with small pocket pairs, you want to shove when stacks get more shallow and flat if stacks are deep like 50bb to 75bb. but for example with 200bb and more (cash games) I would be more inclined to 3bet for the reason of winning a huge pot when we flop a set.i think the cbet size is fine, with that size you can semi bluff a lot and although you expect him to have at this board for example to have a hand very often, you only need him to fold with a half pot bet only 1/3 of the timethe river is check fold so well played IMO hope that is basically the right idea, there are probably other aspects to mention aswella gl
3betting 55 is kinda meh to me since it dosen't play that great postflop unless you hit your set so i'd prefer something like K7s at least until i know he dosen't call 3bet light . think given he had folded to some of your raises preflop and this is your first 3bet i think Ax is a big part of his range, so c/f here is possible the best option IMO.turn: fineRiver: looking at it know i'd consider betting since he checked behind on the river, bc his hand looks like a Jx or weak Ax. but it is going to be pretty marginale with no postflop reads this is at least what i got out of the hand
Interesting responses thanks guys , although I still don't think I'm totally confident about this spot (given the different opinions lol)
Overall conslussion i can draw from mine and the other responses is that folding here is going to be okay
Certainly folding the river, yes. He can very well play passively with weaker aces or weaker pairs.I would normally call with 55, I don't think it's the most ideal hand to 3bet, just because you get into a lot of sticky situations postflop, but if you're comfortable and skilled postflop then it's going to be fine. However, I disagree with betting this flop. If you feel you have a lot of fold equity preflop, it means your opponent is both opening wide and calling a tighter range when you do 3bet and this flop just really connects with a tighter range (it doesn't mean premium hands, but broadways, many Ax, etc.).If the flop were A96 or something like that, a lead would make more sense, as you could fold out many more QT, QJ, TK, KJ, KQ type hands that might call preflop.
