Do you mind putting up what you consider to be a decent ROI for each of the levels at both turbo and non-turbo RyPac? Although obviously we should all just be opting to play as best we can and letting the ROI sort itself out, I think it would be beneficial to see what sort of ROI's we should be aiming to achieve at each stake as we move up (this is obv aimed at playing A game, not 6 tabling ect). Thanks for any help-Jay
I'm still trying to figure out what the structure is for Pacific regular speeds, I don't play there (I asked a few non US but they didn't know off hand).Give me the structure setup and I will definitely get back to you. What Borg says is likely a realistic goal, though I'm sure there's higher than 10% edge to be had (you also have to factor in rake though, is rake 10%? What about rb/VIP?).
If I recall correctly, the blind structure is pretty fast and the blinds increase quickly. Besides that, rake is insanely high, so I doubt much more than 10% is doable.
Yeah, i will move from pacific soon. But on pacific there are lot of very loose and bad players, so i like to play here, until i build my bankroll. My roi is about 8%.
I'd like to submit that even with the players being horrible beyond belief on Pacific, it won't be more profitable than say Pokerstars due to of the rake difference. You mustn't underestimate it.
I would imagine that winning over 60% of your matches is certainly possible, depending on exactly how fast the blinds move (5+ min blinds on any site's $5 husng games should allow very good players to win 60%+ long term). I'm not sure how that will translate into ROI, as I don't have the time currently to calculate it with the rake and potential VIP/rb on pacific, but 8% ROI seems pretty good so far and I would guess you can achieve even better results than that.I agree with Borg, provided you don't have 50%+ rakeback, I doubt it'll be more profitable to play on a slower/smaller site than a major Stars/FTP type site at the lower levels (this might change once you hit $50 or $100+ though).
For non US, to be honest Stars and FTP are very attractive (particularly Stars if FTP hasn't gotten the non US people paid out since black friday, if they have then I would say the two are both great options). However, just as Carbon (merge network) was a great place for low to mid stakes players prior to black friday (super soft games, 35% rb, similar structure as Stars for husngs), there are likely some smaller euro networks that you can say the same about.Just consider the rake, you figure you will pay roughly 5% rake at the lower stakes on FTP, but then get 27% back via rakeback (on Stars it'll be 5% then something like 10-20% back via VIP, but Stars probably has structures a bit easier for beginners to handle and beat). What are those sites I speak of? I'm not totally sure to be honest. It's hard to really know until you try these networks out. I only knew about Carbon because I got to see for myself, testing it out prior to our promos by signing up, playing a few dozen games, and verifying for myself that it was a place we could recommend to others. Since I can't get on a lot of those non US sites, I don't feel comfortable enough recommending any smaller sites. But that doesn't mean you can't always pick a site without trying it first, but the best option has to be more obvious to me than it is now for non US players.I certainly think Stars and FTP are better options than Carbon for non US players now though. That's not to say Carbon is bad for Euros, but they won't be able to assemble the same volume and ratio of fish that Stars and FTP already have in their non US playerbases.Hope that helps.
Also, I say this to all my students or anybody that asks me personally a lot about site choices or bankroll management: Go play. That's the most important thing. Spend a few hours, maybe a few days testing out networks. Think about bankroll for an hour or two with a few article/guides (like this one). But don't dwell on it. Once your decisions or thoughts are preventing you from playing, you're already developing a leak that can be tough to get rid of (wasting time and procrastinating on non essentials). So make smart decisions with all the information that you gather, but get out there and play ASAP.
ROI is not actually listed in my dictionary. I just keep on playing and enjoying myself until none left. We'll just kiddin.. I am not sure about it. What about you guys?
Depends what buyin level and structure. What type of structure are you playing and at what buyin level (or which levels are you curious about)?
5$ buy in on pacific, normal speed.

Blind structure is: 10/20, 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 150/300,... Buy in 5+0.50$.
