I will outline my challenge that I had in mind for myself and would like some advice as to how to go about achieving it. BR management and stuff. I saw somewhere that this coach could turn $50 into $5000 in a month it was? Or some timeframe by only playing HU SnG's, starting at the $2 level and moving up. I want to do something like this. I think $5000 is a bit out of reach right now with my skill level so I was leaning more towards $500 as a start. I want to make specific points where when I have X amount of buyins for a specific level I move up or down due to that. What do you guys think are good numbers for that? How many buyins are good for a specific stake for HU SnG's? With variance and all that involved. I will be doing this on Carbon Poker and the tourney structures are like this.$2.15 ST, $4.15 ST, $8.20 ST, $15.30 ST, $21.50 ST $6 T $10.50 T $23 TI prefer the reg turbos because the blinds arent up so fast so you have more room to outplay them but I want to start small and move up to them when I can. Once I start winning more at ST tables should I just stay on those since I will have the right feel or should I switch between T and ST because it's a lesser jump? Any advice is helpful :) I'm pretty much a breakeven HU SnG player right now and want to improve to make a profit from it. My BR was hurt when I was tilting quite a bit and dropped it from $100 to $30 and didn't have rakeback on there (lock poker) so I went back to carbon(I do have rakeback) dropped $50 in and came up with this idea. Hopefully with time and support I can achieve this :) Thanks for your input in advance. If anyone wants to join me in this and do it as well it would be great to have a group of guys to discuss hands and poker with who are in the same boat. Let me know!
id suggest using Kelly Criterion BRM for fastest BR growth with the least risk possible... you must be very strict with it and move down when you should tho.
any links where I could find more information about that?
So far over 101 games I have a 5.6% ROI so i'm feeling pretty good about my playing and that over time I may be able to do this. :)
Good luck ! 3 advise take 1 day break by week or more and dont go crazy if you start running bad or good ... Keep the focus at 100 % and when you feel you lose the control , take a 10 min break on failblog.org ( can only make you relaxe imo)Work 1 hour on your no play game like video / forum / review your hh .... Do not give up !!
After playing these and starting to be more accustomed to the variance I'm much better at keeping my head on straight. As long as I know i'm playing right I don't worry too much, getting pocket aces beat doesn't tilt me so much like it used to, like Cog Dissonance says in his videos "i'm going to shove here, and if he has me beat then he has me beat". I like that mind set, If he does he does, no need to worry about it when you can get him next time'Thanks for the advice and for the luck wishes. Hopefully the poker gods help me run like one of them, loll
