Overthinkers Anonymous - Need a support group

I think it was HokieGreg who said in an interview or 2+2 post that at the lower stakes you just gotta play solid, aggressive value betting poker.Wondering if there's anyone else out there who ends up overthinking against the low stakes players. I find I often lose my edge in the $15s and $30s and that neighborhood by not giving players enough credit, or occasionally giving the aggressives too much.If I tell myself that I do this I can conciously avoid making these mistakes, but it's such a bad habit that sometimes I level myself out of matches.

I think it boils down to

I think it boils down to experience and focus. When you try to bluff a lot in the lower stakes, especially as a newer or less experienced player, you inevitably make some bad bluffs and sometimes you can lose control easily (remember, more experienced players often are better at bluffing and have a stronger mindset, not always, but at least on average). However, not bluffing at all can also be a problem.  I personally had issues with not bluffing a lot as I moved up.  I grasped skills such as 3betting for value, value betting with more than TP+, the importance of firing value barrels all the time... I grasped that a lot faster than I did appropriate bluffing situational skills.I can't stress how important it is to really review, analyze, discuss and experience these situations.  The more examples you see and work through the more natural and confident you'll be (and correct) in situations where you used to bluff and maybe weren't so sure if it was spew or gold.

Hey man, I'm playing the 15's

Hey man, I'm playing the 15's just looking to hit the 30's in the next few days (aslong as variance doesnt mess me up). Im beating it for about 8% ROI (not a brag or anything just incase you wanted to know if I was beating the games) and wouldn't mind doing sweats etc to try and help you improve. I'm sure I would learn a ton from you as well, so really wouldn't mind doing it. Hit me up on skype if you want, sn is Antagonistical.Gl at the tables-Jay

hey guys, I was a mid-stake player on FT but the site broke and my money stayed there so I'm trying to rebuild my BR on PS and right now I'm beating the low stakes and trying to focusing on improve my volume and the mentality of the game(superturbos) as long as I can and I think the idea of create a group to discuss it would be a great idea!Marcelo
