Hi Spinoza,The answer to this question is in depth given and explained by Mersenneary in his video 17. You need a premium membership to watch this one lthough. It is really a great vid, that most have to watch a view times because off the huge amount of information. To answer your specific question: at 25 BB deep you need your opponent to raise at least 67% of his buttons to make a shove +EV with A5o. Against A5s his openingpercentage has to be at least 52% for shoving being +EV.I think it isn't appropiate for me to explain this more because of the great video available here.regardsDutchie
Thank you for the advice with video 17. If i make some money i really consider to go with premium membership. I think shoving is indeed slightly +EV. But maybe not the best line what we should take. In the past i used to call in these situations. But this way isnt easy to play +EV either. At the moment i think we should 3bet these situations to make the most +EV. But i am not sure, thats the reason why i ask at this forum.I play the 15 dollars at stars at the moment and a cautious estimate of BTN raises by my average opponent is about 65%. And most of them go down to about 40-50% at the 15/30 level. If i go all in with A5 i think they only call with about 25% from the 65%.Regards
Because its the first hand and you are readless at this point I think flatting is better than jamming. In these early stages of STs it can't hurt to have a few Ax in your flatting range.
Remember that we're comparing against calling, not against folding. I flat these hands readless and jam against wider openers.
they play so perfect flatting because of the great implied odds you have if you flop an ace. chk/call, chk/call chk/call, I WIN!
