I was thinking about a hand that I've played on Hypers and would be interesting if someone help me because imo 3x pre means a lot of times a good/strong hand, here we are:The villain was 2x 80% of the time and I was calling him a little wide like T7o, J9o, Q5o and some suited connector like 89s, 65s and in the middle of the match he 3x pre and I have 33, what to do in this situation knowing that a lot of fish have this huge leak, 3x pre with strong hands in lower stakes like 7's, 15's, shove or fold??ty
Well, the shorter the stacks the more likely you should shove (or at least the less fold equity you need to make shoving better than folding).Has he 3xed at all before? How many hands in? The longer amount of hands that have played without a 3x, the more likely it is that a 3x is strong or premium I'd imagine on average. Also, tilt is a factor. How about fold equity in other places? Has he bet big vs small when cbetting before? 3betting? If so maybe identifying that can help you find the best decision here.
ty for the answer ryan, the point is he did 3x pre for the 1st time, no tilt, no big bets or 3 betting by him. He was playing clean and solid and the blinds were 15/30 so he made 90. My reason to ask this is based on the general players in lowers stakes, when the guy is playing poorly and doing pre 3x often certainly my pocket 3 will be a shove but this guy made 3x for the first time and I'm very confused about the best decision here. Another good question about Hypers, is any Ax, KQ or KJ profitable to shove when the villain 2x in the 1st blind level 10/20?
Especially if the blinds just changed or we're 15bb or less I would just shove.Just in one match worth of a sample, that may not be enough to fold 33 preflop here, even at 20-25bb.
If villain 3x's very rarely, I usually give him credit unless I have solid strong hand to jam on him. But if I notice that he starts doing it more often, for example when blinds go up, this is obviously a big leak by villain and I will be much more liberal when shoveing.
