I am on the worst downswing of my career and i thought it was something that would have an impact in everything. And it does...The thing is something has changed.I have really got a grasp of what variance can do to even winning players. What has changed now is that i am indifferent about the amount of money i lose since i play my A game.I see every game as a life in a videogame-u lose one u have other 100 waiting. So maybe something good can come out of downswings for everyone and I believe out of every downswing u rise stronger if u are good enought to beat the game.I dont know what other winning players think but i d like to see opinions.I believe others have thought about the same things too
I have learned I cannot call my downswings variance if they are result of my bad decisions. Same goes for upswings. :D
My 2 cents Variance is there and its call variance ... Bad play is bad play and good play is good play ... When i get a downswing a come back on husng and look some vid and review more my game so yes downswing help ... i think
Ofcourse, but problem is, people often mix up those two, and blame it on variance while it is actually their bad play. Or they too often find themselves in all-in situations where their shoving/shovecalling range is crushed, and they were probably aware of that but didn't act accordingly.
I like the mentality here Mink. The more you can honestly disregard the luck factor and focus on the skill factor that you can control, the better off you'll likely be.In the end, many realize, if you have a large enough edge, negative variance/swings that cause you to break even or lose over long samples, are not present nearly as often as they are in most people.
