I guess 40bi, $280; but whatever you're ready to lose really. eg if you try hypers and lose 20 bi on your first day, will you continue playing? if not then you only need 20bi...don't be surprised with 10-15bi daily swings, even at $7s

I don't see any problem with

I don't see any problem with 40bi brm IF you are son of Bill Gates or if you are super confident about your game, are putting in a ton of volume and studying the game. Otherwise I REALLY recommend a 70-100bi brm. I am confident saying this because I know superturbos pro's who use this rule and I am playing them seriously since june and I have 15k games example. As Shinigami said, 10-15bi daily downswings are really common and you have to keep your BR save to these bad days. Crush!

Yeah... just wanted to give

Yeah... just wanted to give hyper-turbo's a try 2 days ago. Lost over 10BI's within 2 hour even though i almost got it in good majority of the time.. Very swingy and frustrating. I lost about 20% of my bankroll & unless you don't really care  about money or can handle variance very well psychologically I think more in the direction of 100BI bankroll should let you play more comfortable.

ok thanks. yeah, to start i

ok thanks. yeah, to start i would rather have a bigger roll to feel more confortable and later on when im better i might start with more aggressive aproaches and shot taking. but for now i want to be a bit more relaxed and hopefully not have to drop down in stakes..i dont really feel like playing 1.5$ or 3$ hu hyper turbos..so for now im playing 18 man sng and building from 50$. So, Pro tuned: what stakes did u start at? and what are u playing now?

I started playing $3,50 level

I started playing $3,50 level with $500 (super tight bankroll management LOL) and now I'm playing 15's with 100bi roll.

yeah super tight. but for the

yeah super tight. but for the beginning i wanna start with a really tight roll management as well. im playing the 1.5$ turbo 18-man to build up, i think it will be quicker cause i can play around 10 tables at the same time. and once im rolled for the 7$ HU hypers i wouldn't like to have to move back to these again.but congrats, and keep going ;)

Like I said, you don't need

Like I said, you don't need to have always 100bi to play superturbos but if you feel comfortable with your game, 70bi is a really good BR to start. I started very tight just because I was more concentrate on improve my game, not thinking on money aspect.

did u start out with watching

did u start out with watching some videos here, or having coaching sessions? or were u just reviewing hands by yourself?

Start with 70-100BI. 50 is

Start with 70-100BI. 50 is doable if you have some experience, but more is better when starting because you will probably lose a small bunch of games while adjusting. Thats why I would also recommend to start with some lower games 3.5$ or 1.5$, just to get the feel of it.

I think iv seen Merseanary

I think iv seen Merseanary  reccomend 50BI move up and 35BI move down, as long as you have the discapline to move up and down regularly. I personally used this rule to to get me to the $30 level, but i used a 100BI move up to the 60s rule and 70BI drop down.  I think at the $60s, there is defo a difference in the quality of players from the $30s.  So if reccomend having a 30BI shot at the 60s, but 15BI shots anything below that should be good.  People may disagree with me on that.  but i know players doing really well and wont move up with less than 200BI at their stake! I think its to do with how well you handle swings.  if you can detatch yourself from money value (this should be the aim), and just focus on making correct descisions and not worry about $$$ just the most +EV play, then $$$ will follow and you will naturally progress in stakes. Id reccomend reading a book called the "poker mindset".  I think this is pricless when it comes to the swings of hyper turbos, and really really helped me. GL

for the 7$ games, if you know

for the 7$ games, if you know what you are doing, you really dont need 100 buy ins, at this level 40 buy in is enough, you can move down to 3,5$ games if you drop 10 or 15 buy ins

I disagree with 40 bi being

I disagree with 40 bi being enough. Even if you know what you're doing you can easily drop 20 bi at these games and that's half of your bankroll.

What i said is that  if you

What i said is that  if you lose 10 or 15 buy ins, you move down to the 3.5$, and regrind it back.To have 100buyins for the 7$ level game is a waste of time i think but everybody has its own bkroll managment, thats just my opinion.

I think this is horses for

I think this is horses for corses.  But here i am leaning towards agreeing with sad beats.  I think that if you have 40BI at the $7 games, and you cant beat the $7 games with 40 BI, then I would stop trying to beat the $7 games, and invest any "reload" money or money left over from your downswing in coaching.  I am not talking from expirience here, but i cant imagine that $7 standard is very high atall, and i think the majority of players can be beaten there with a little knowladge of what you are doing!  FYI, I dont know how much you know, and im not assuming im better than you atall here, but if your simply trying to beat the games by sticking to a nash range (which is what alot of people do) then this is wrong.  I think if you are unsure about weather you can beat the $7s with 40 BI, then i would simply invest in some coaching before even playing.  Thats defo more +EV than deciding to start playing hyper turbos and trying to figure them out yourself.  GL!

i began playing the 5euros

i began playing the 5euros hyper turbos on ps.fr with 100 euros after watching the standard videos available here and i ve never been broke, i'm not better that anyone else only that players at this level don t know what they re doing so i think 40 buyins should be more than enough given the fact that there are the 3,50$ available just in case ..

Nope, 10$ per hour would

Nope, 10$ per hour would probably be possible at 7s or 15s depending on your skills.

so how do you think how much

so how do you think how much is possible at these ? And should I try to 4 tabling. Right now I am pretty confident at 2 ...

nekrogovner's picture
Whats 2 tables? 35 games per

Whats 2 tables? 35 games per hour or so?  So calculate 35 x 3.5$ x ROI (your ROI while 2 tabling), and that should be the number. Consider that solid ROI should be 3%.If you think 4 tabling can increase your winrate, give it a shot. But you should have better expectation if you move up.

Bankroll Management

Here's a relevant video to the question of bankroll management in super and hyper turbo HU poker. Mersenneary did this one about a year ago.
