Hi All, Just a quick question, at what point should my All in $EV even out with my actual $ Won, I`ve played over 2000 games at the $7 dollar Hyper Turbo level and there`s 2% discrepancy between the two, is All in $EV really that important with HU Hypers? Just for arguments sake you can grind someone down to 250 and pretty much call off with any two when ur behind will obv affect ur all in EV in a negative way but ur not risking ur game? If there`s another thread about All in $Ev then just forget about this post
Hi Gti,Good questions.First, what do you mean by "pretty much call any two when you're behind will affect your all in ev in a negative way?"When you get to say 2bb, you will pretty much call any two cards, but the impact of that shouldn't be huge, since you get it all in at many other deeper stack sizes where you aren't "priced in" to call any two cards. In your 250 stack example, if the blinds are 15-30, you're not going to be calling any two cards and you'll probably be a favorite with your calling range vs your opponent's opening range (with an eye on not giving up too many pots with a fold, so your overall strategy is +EV vs most). But please expand on what you meant before we get into the all in EV aspect, I think it will make for a more accurate and useful discussion.
Hi RyPac13,What I meant to say was, when we are shoving like 10J when u have 750 chips and ur opponent calls with like q2 off with blinds at 15/30, we are behind but our stack is not at risk, does this affect the All in $EV in a negative way, but we can still go on to win the game, Im not sure if I`m making sense, the math side of the game in terms of $EV is pretty cloudy to me. I just wanted to know if I should be looking at $EV for my future winrate instead of what my actual winrate is. But it looked to me a big enough discrepancy between the two? Or is over 2000 games not enough to see? Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it a lot
Allin $EV does nothing more and nothing less than define what should be yours, if we would live in a perfect world ;).This means: if you have are a 60/40 favorit and you win, you win 100% of the chips. This is 40% more than you should earn with that move and therefore you are 40% OVER ALLIN $EV.Personally I think that the ALLIN $EV should not have any influence on your game at all. The problem is that, while we are pushing against a specific range, the ALLIN $EV does only catch the current situation. For example; yes, you are behind with JTo against Q2o, but if your opponent is calling 100% and you are certain of that the move you made had positive expectation, which is not considerd by ALLIN $EV.
Hi.
I think I`m getting my head around it now, thx for the replies guys
