Hello Ryan and instructors,I want to make a suggestion which might be redundant in the case that everybody is already doing it, but here it goes anyways,For the sake of organization and completion of our video collection I thint that the best way to name the files is the formatinstructor name_video number_name of series_number of video inside the series_other comments.zipFor example, if barewire launches a new video of a new series, and his last video was number 14, the video overall number should come first, and then the name of the series and it´s number inside the series; it should look like thisbarewire_15_ultradeepstackseries_1_othercomments.zip and it´s sequel should look like barewire_16_ultradeepstackseries_2_othercomments.zipand the next video, if not part of a series but just a single video, it should just be named barewire_17_meagainstyou.zipand it should not look likebarewire_ultradeepstackseries_1_video15_against X player.zipIt makes it easier to keep up with the new videos being launched and making sure your collection is complete even you stay few months without visiting HUSNG.com. Plusit looks pretty neat when youre looking at the folders. Of course this is just my opinion, people are welcome to point flaws in the suggestion. Thanks.
I like the suggestion.I try and file them as neat as I can too in numbers and so forth :)Most of the videos are numbered and sometimes not always in the tilte but you can see it when you download the file name. Although the problem is when there is a free video or maybe a series that don't get numbered ie Cogs early super turbo series, and filing the Fydor ones are a nightmare cause they are dates instead of numbers:)Having the above suggestion also makes it easier when you watch an older video and want to see the comments and/or questions asked about it. Sometimes trying to find them when the numbers dont correspond to my files can be a bit time consuming.
The main issue that I see is that file names are supposed to be kept to a certain character length. I will have to dig up what that requirement was and the reasoning for it, but I do recall the webmaster talking about keeping file names to a certain character length when possible. The current format is just instructor name_ video number _ description of video. That way, members can easily see which video numbers they are missing from an instructor and the basic title/description of the video from the extension. We have detailed video descriptions on most videos from the last year or two and at least a video description for the earliest videos on the site, so if you ever need to know exactly what is in a video, just check the instructor's section (which can be done a number of ways on the Videos Page). That said, Fydor's video labeling is a mess. It's not his fault, I label each video myself. I mean, you can see them by date fairly easily, but I should be able to find a better system for Fydor's videos minimum.
