Villian is a 91/11. Through out the match he made a few min leads and overbets. Early in the match this hand troubled me. I put him on a made flush, trips or 2 pairs. Judging from his reraise size, I think he has a very strong hands. Does this play looks alright? BBmatmarvl211620 SBHero1380 Effective Stacks: 69bb Blinds 10/20 Pre-Flop (30, 2 players) Hero is SB Hero raises to 60, matmarvl21 calls 40 Flop (120, 2 players) matmarvl21 bets 20, Hero raises to 60, matmarvl21 calls 40 Turn (240, 2 players) matmarvl21 bets 20, Hero raises to 120, matmarvl21 raises to 580, Hero folds Final Pot: 940 matmarvl21 wins 940 ( won +240 ) Hero lost -240
what hes min/blocking bets means?? I dont think he has a set. It seems stupid if he bets 20 into 240, so thats it gives you a chance to complete your draw. Maybe AT or KT if hes playing 11 % from BB, i cant really see him hold 5-7,10-2 etc. I sometimes see people defend there toppair with overbets, but he would probably lead the turn if that was the case. Very strange line indeed....
i'm net to HU but I think you made a good fold. His play was very strange. Flush is a possibility but I think those 20 chip bets don't look like flush to me. As the guy earlier said he is only playing 11% of his hands in BB which means he either has a pocker pair or 2 big cards pre flop. On the flop he bets 20 into 120 pot and this screams weakness, but when he calls I put him on some kind of a draw. Now the turn completes a flush draw but he bets 20 again... If you think about it unless you are very agro in possition this bet doesn't make any sence what so ever if he made his flush... What I would put him on is either a set or an overpair with one of the cards beeing a club. I don't know if I have read the situation correcly I'm looking forward to seeing some of the better players comments to see if I was even close :DD
Hi. I think you should be raising him on flop much more like a 100, it still make him 30% pot odds to draw his flushdraw one card more. But when the turn comes and its a scare card and he make such a small bet then you can use this and just call the turn for potcontrol. And then you can aford to call his river bet. You said he is bluffy(small leads an some overbets) So can give you enaugh odds to call his river bet if he does not bet something to to large.
I think your line is good but your bet sizing is too small. We have a monster on the flop and still a fairly strong hand on the turn when he leads so small, and we should expect him to peel a raise with any pair on the flop and any pair+draw on the turn. I rarely see anyone 3bet the turn after taking this line and I think it's an extremely strong play, so good fold.
