I was planning on calling any bet by him.
Pointless to shove, you wont get called by any hands that dont beat you, except for maybe some weaker 8. Maybe. Call is fine.
Look at stacksizes what are left, then you cant shove but you can call a bet?? Villain is always betting when you check and betsizes will probably always be a size like what he's got left so i think he can shove the river then aswell
True. Got mislead by last sentence longjohn wrote, didn't even gave a proper look to stacksizes. Still, if he already decides to get it in on the river I suppose its better to check/call, then shove, to induce bluffs.
Yeah I did realise I would be calling a shove but like nekro said its better to call the shove then to put it in myself if I'm willing to get it in anyway right?
i would check/fold river, i don't think the usual player turns t8/j8 into a bluff here (which it is essentially on that river), so if he bets you are beat, the only hands that missed are 79/ and maybe t9 if he plays it, if you compare it to flushdraw combos and 2pair/toppairs with better kicker etc. i would guess your equity is below the 25% you would need if he shoves, that all changes of course if villain is a fish who calls too wide on the flop, than 5x and 7x for gutshots are in his range too, etc. if you shove he is going to fold pretty much all hands that you beat and call when you are behind so shoving yourself is too thin against unknown i would say,
I think c/r the flop is quite a bit too thin at 75bb on this board texture. There's way too many ways the board will run out poorly for us and we won't get value on 3 streets anymore. Start with a c/c imo, especially when he cbets so big on a wet board like this we're probably not in great shape.
