Equity and other relevant Terms!

Where can I develop my poker knowledge. So I do know a little of some terms but don;t know the exact meaning. Such as I know a little what equity is but don't know how to work with it. Hopefully there are some people who can help me and help me out making more progress in poker as in playing poker but also as in poker theory. And what are some other things that I need to know.Thank you!

just read slanskys books i

just read slanskys books i suppose to get a general idea about the game or go to http://www.pokerstrategy.com/#uZ8DXX which has articles and videos for beginning players and explains every important beggining concecpt and even further concepts for more advanced players (sry if this is against husng.com policy but as far as i know you guys don't teach beginning concepts like equity)to put it simply equity is the estimated probability of you winning the hand / or your opponent winning the hand, so your equity can range from 0% (you never win) to 100% (you always win), and your opponents equity can range from 0% to 100% as well, logically if your equity is 20% your opponent equity is 80% and vice versa, there are programs which can calculate the equity for you, just google equilab / pokerstove or equity calculating tool and you will find some programs who will do that for you,ok so in poker you get dealt two cards and your opponent gets dealt two cards, if you know your opponents cards you can calculate the equity (i.e. the probability you win the hand) at any given moment: preflop / on the flop / on the turn / on the river , so let's say you have 72o preflop and your opponent has AA: your equity is 11,8% so you win roundabout 1 in 10 times, your opponents equity logically is 100%-11,8%= 88,2% so he wins the hand roundabout 8 out of 10 times, so let's say the flop is 722r (nice flop :D) so now your equity holding 72o vs our opponents AA goes up to about 92% , as you see equitys can change dramatically from preflop to the flop, the same is true for flop to turn and turn to river, usually when people talk about equity , they are talking about the equity of their hand against villains range ( meaning the sum of all hands he is likely to play in a given manner), why? because there are 52 cards in the deck, you can't know what your opponents cards are unless you are cheating or he tells you, so you estimate what you think he has by watching showdowns and seeing how he played certain hands and infering from that knowledge (for example: he went all in preflop 4 times and you saw AA, KK, AK, QQ, so you infer that his range for going all in preflop is strong), so you make an estimation of your opponents range and calculate (in game estimate) the equity of the two cards you hold against the range you assigned your opponent  why do we care? your equity essentially tells you how often you are winning, the bigger your equity the more money you make, if your equity is 100% this is good news because you always win, which means you should go all in, if you never win (your equity is 0%) you should fold, if your equity is anywhere in between it is a question of the pot odds (please google this, because it would take 2 pages to explain) he is giving you if he bet or if it's your turn it's a question of your equity against the range of hands he will call your bet with (putting it simply) hope that was clear,
