Ive been playing husng for about 4 month and come a long way since that, but in my mind its pretty much by the help of others (getting coached by Fydor_8). And also form watching alot of vids. Those of you with or without a coach, what do you do to improve your game?I try to go trough my hands in my HEM, but i dont think its going to well when it comes to find mistakes in my game. So what do you do??
A big thing that I did when I started, well before hiring a coach, was posting hands on strategy forums for discussion. I also talked to other players. Both are great ways to improve, but can be double edged. With posting hands, you want to be careful not to spend a lot of time posting situations that aren't going to help you much after discussion (such as posting a deep stack hu mtt hand if you only play 3 hu mtts a year and usually play hypers, or posting a very specific situation you have analyzed deeply and found there to be extremely little difference between folding or calling, there's not much value there unless you feel your analysis is flawed). The other thing to watch out for is meeting and just simply talking to people that don't play much poker or don't want to discuss strategy. This usually works two ways, so if you're "all business" or "mostly business" you probably will automatically filter these people out (as they will be more interested in talking to people more receptive to getting off topic). But make sure that you're not sidetracking your progress every day by getting into long, non poker growth inspiring discussions (unless you want to, of course).
