Hey,I have been playing hyper turbos for about the last 3 days and I am using Poker CoPilot as my tracking software. It is telling me that (using the all-in equity graph) that I have made 215bbs in ev. I am running 290bbs below ev making me in actuallity -75bbs.My Question is however that I am currently down 12 buy-ins but only 75 bbs below 0.Does anyone know if Poker CoPilot adjusts to the changing the blind levels (I think it must given this info) so that my standard game won't actually be 25bbs each and it will be closer to perhaps 12-15bbs each?Any help would be fantastic as I know this software isn't as widely used, I just want to make sure I am taking in the information avalible to me appropriatley. Thanks!
When I spoke to Serkules about his Poker Co-Pilot graph for Graph Porn, he told me his average buyin was closer to 15bbs on the graph, rather than 25bb for hyper turbos.Let me know if that makes sense.
Hey thanks for the reply.Yeah, I have seen that blog post and it makes sense and because of reading that I was starting to understand that my avg game is likely closer to 15bbs and definatley less than 25bbs.The only problem I see is that I am only running 75bbs below 0 however in that same stretch I am 12 buy-ins below 0 for $ profit. The only way that info would make sense to me is if my avg bbs a game for those 12 matches would be 6.25 per game (75bbs/12buy-ins = 6.25) which can't be the case since I think I have only made it past the 40/80 blind level once. I hope I am thinking about this correctly.I would post a picture of the graph however I am sorry but i don't know how, but if it helps this information is from 107 tournaments over 2183 hands. I don't think this is an issue however since this shouldn't have much to do with sample size and only about how I am digesting this info.NOTE: I just noticed that my Poker CoPilot graph is in BB so I guess that would be ptbb's? If so then this info makes alot of sense since the avg bbs per game over those 12 games would be 12.5bb's which is a very realistic number. Thanks for any help on this!
I'm not sure if it's ptbbs, shoot them an email and see what they say exactly and report back please!
I emailed them and they said it is big blinds so given that I am little confused about what the graph is telling me.
It doesn't take into consideration the effective stacks. So if you win one game first hand, it'll show up as +25bbs (10-20 blinds, 500 starting stacks). If in game two you trade chips with your opponent until 25-50 blinds, then get all in with 500 chips vs 500 chips and lose, it has you at -10bbs for that action. Now overall you would be at +15bbs, but your record would be 1-1.Off hand I'm not sure of the entire implications of this setup. Also thank you to Serkules for the above information.
Hello all,I'm also using PCP, but only play turbos instead of hypers (starting w/ 75 bb). What amount of bb would represent an average match in this format?Am I correct when saying if I run x bb over EV and an average match would represent y bb, I'm runnin x/y*buyin over EV?
Hey,I never did actually figure out exactly what was going on and what my average bb/per match was.Luckily, however, I am running a parrells program on my mac for certain applications so I decided to just try out Holdem Manager and I am enjoying if infinatley more than Poker Copilot. Not sure if that is an option for you or not but there is a free trial avaliable which you could us to try it out. Also Poker tracker 3 has a mac compatable version and from what I have heard they are releasing Poker tracker 4 relitvely soon and anyone who purchases poker tracker 3 from around now, until the time poker tracker 4 is released will be entitled to a free upgrade to the new software (you would want to clarify that this is the case). From what I understand, poker tracker 3 is a very high quality program on par with Holdem manager and this would also likely be better then using Poker Copilot. Poker Tracker 3 also has a 60 day free trial that you can download on your mac and get started trying it out right away!Just to clarify I have nothing against Poker Copilot it is an excellent program in it's own right but as far as I know it is a fairly small operation so subsequently there aren't as many in depth features avalible so certain aspects of the program (espeacilly post game analysis) just won't be able to measure up to the larger operations of Poker tracker 3 and Holdem manager. So if you simply want to keep track of your results Poker Copilt is fine and by all means you should continue to utilize this program, however, if you truley want to take advantage of all the features that are currently avalible and help take your game to the next level I would strongly reccomend trying out wither Poker Tracker 3 or Holdem Manager using a free trial and see what you think.
Cool, never realised PT3 was running Mac native atm. Will definitely try the free trail version. Do not like the use of parrallels though, so will stick to PT3 or PCP:)
Yeah I would definatley avoid parrallels. I am not a big fan but I need it for certain programs. Hope it works out for!
Moved back to PCP, it took me too long to configure PT:)As of now, the all-in EV graph is also available in '$' instead of BB. For tournaments/sng '$' should be interpreted as chips, as stated by the founder of PCP:"The all-in EV chart doesn't represent buy-ins and tournament prize winnings. It only represents the results of hands played during the tournament. So although it is labelled "$" it is actually "chips". As such the $ chart is very misleading. For tournaments I recommend only paying attention to the "BB" chart."Nevertheless I do believe that for husng it could be useful. Am I thinking correctly or flawed?:If I filter for husng only in the $ graph, 1 buyin equals 1500$ (as this is the starting stack for turbos on Stars). So filtering for husng and 1 buyin level actually gives me the info of how much I'm running above/below EV in terms of $ (simply being the difference between the 2 lines/1500*buyin)
Hey,Yeah I noticed that as well and have been trying out the new version of PCP and I have ~100 games so far and it looks like for me T$500 is corresponding to 1 buy-in for a hyper turbo which I have been playing. And so far my $ EV and BB EV graphs looks fairly uniform with only very minor variation, however, this is of course subject to change once I get in more volume. It looks to me like your logic is correct and that has essentially been what I have been thinking as well.I can understand as well how BB will of course be a more accurate representation of your true all-in EV, however, I am certainley enjoying have a standard unit of measurement to compare my results to instead of having to esstimate my average BB/per game.
