He was calling my bets quite fast and the fact that he didn't check raise me I gave him quite a weak range any 3 any 8 and some low T's on flop maybe straight draws but didn't have reads on whether he would be raising them or calling them, I recon he folds out the 3s on the turn but still calls the rest. On the river I thought there was no way he would call a shove with anythin worse then me so I bet 1/3 and when he c/r I thought it was either a straight or a bluff. I wasn't sure if my bet size would have induced a bluff? should I check back the river? do you ever think he is bluffing here? am I ok to bet this size on the river if I am planning to fold to a c/r?
I am checking rivers with marginal hands against a villain who is capable of floating multiple streets with any piece of board, overcards and draws, until I determine more accurately how does he play those types of hands.
I would definitely value bet the river small and expect to get called by a decent amount of worse hands.I dont see him showing up on the river with 97 or J9 very often. I guess that given his aggressive tendencies, he is probably going to c/r them earlier (if he doesnt, make sure to take a note that he is polarized to complete air / value on flop whenever he c/r).I also think that he is very likely to try to get it in on the turn with 2pairs/sets, maybe even strong top pair type hands given how wet the board is and how shallow stacks are. The same is probably true if he floated the flop with QdJd and other QJ combos are probably just folding on the turn which means they are not in his river range. That leaves Q8 as the only reasonable hand that he might have given the action and his tendencies.I know that his sizing looks extremely valueish, but as long as he doesnt think you are stationy and as long as you think he is capable of turning weakish made hands into a bluff, I guess I´d call.
I probably just click call here, you only have to be good around 15% of the time. There's probably a decent chance he's just spazzing out, but usually you're beat so it's probably going to be close.I think you can definitely bet bigger on the flop, no need to balance your range against opps who don't care. I bet around 150 into 200 on the flop and 350-390 into 500 on the turn. This way the pot is around 1200 on the river and your opp has 600 left, you can easily ship it in and get called with a lot worse.
