Hey Everyone,I am playing th 30s and starting to mix in some 60s (turbos) and I am begning to realize the importance of note taking and labelling.I am wondernig if anyone has any suggestions as too how many categories we should be breaking down our opponents into.If anyone can shed any advice on what has worked for them that would be great. I am thinking something like the following. Yellow - Clueless Fish - Standard low variance play- avoid marginal spots in big handsGreen - Tight Passive Fish - Open wide, chip away at stackLight Blue - Stationy Fish - Take to value townDark Blue - Average/Decent Reg- However still sit this playerPink - Solid Reg/Standard Play- Try not to playOrange- Aggressive Reg - Try not to playRed- Unique notes about this player Thanks and good luck.
For me the simpler the better for color coding, so I just use blue for any rec/fish, an orange for a reg/thinking player that I think I have a decent edge on and red for anyone i'd rather not play. I just like it to be simple so I can quickly identify players I want to sit when they sit.
Good advice Byzantine.1. Figure out how you want to separate players, choose a system that is simple and effective (I like Byzantine's three colored system, sit-fish, sit-reg, don't sit).2. Come up with easy colors for the system (red = stop/don't sit can make sense, green for fish, blue for fish, etc. or just bright to dark, depending on the amount of categories you feel you need to use. I would use green-blue-red for Byzantine's system, red being don't sit.).
