Hi,I have a question about how relevant you find the All-in EV graph in Hypers (500chips on stars). As I can see in my stats I have a 10BI profit and a -50BI AllinEv on a 400 games sample. How do you find that?As far as I know, the EV graph should be well under winnings especially in hypers because you never put your money with close to 100% equity like in deepstack games but still there's a pretty big difference in my stats, 60BI between WInnings and AllinEV seems pretty weird to me and I would like to see your opinions. Thanks!
Whenever you ship it as an underdog, your ev graph goes down. For example, you ship KQ and villain calls with AT. You have 40% equity but win because hit your pair, so ev graph goes down. And you do this a lot. Or maybe you run often on top of the villains range. For example, you shove A9 but run into Ak...luckily you hit a 9. You only have 26% equity vs AK so ev graph goes waay down again.
nekrogovner thanks for the answer.I know that, whenever I have ,50% equity the AliinEV graph is going down no matter of the results of the hand, I though it's clear frommy first post. The REAL question I'm looking forward for your answers is How relevant do you find the AllInEV graph in Hypers? Because there are many times you're so short(~5bb) you're actually pushing a very wide range and this affects the graph, as lighter you shove as lower the ev graph should be, right? Assuming you're not getting called by 53s/o or similar. Cheers.
Don't care for it too much, unless hand history review proves that my ev graph goes down because I do stupid stuff.
Every top thinker/player that I've heard comment on the EV metric agree that the EV metric is more indicative of your true skill/edge than your actual results.I also have not heard a top thinking player claim that it is a perfect measure of edge or skill, particularly at lower samples.
Thx Ryan for the comment.I think about it the same way, though we can not control the results graph, we can control the AllInEV graph and that should be at least above 0 and growing.
How do you want to control your allinev graph?Personally I do believe that the EV graph has a right to exist. Then again, it seems that most players try to use it for the wrong reason. The very moment you start to use your AI-Graph (who is positive) to justify your winrate (who is negative) and surrender the after math of the session you are walking on thin ice. Also I do miss a edge decrease/improval function within the AI-EV. Of course, if we both are all in (first hand for example) it does not matter. But if I have a 2:1 chip lead and double up my opponent I have an edge decrease as well (as long as we are not in POF anyways). HU SNG are a WTA format and not CG where I can instantly reload to the maximum (which then will reflect the effective stack) missing such a function seems troublesome to me.
Hi.
I think you missunderstood me. it's the other way around, my Ai graph is down 50BI below 0 and my winnings are 10 BI on positive+/Though, I am concerned about the Allin graph, it seems to be going down every day though I consider myself a winning player(12k+ at non hypers).I said to control the allinev graph as you can put your money ahead but these situations you mention like having a 2:1 chip lead and taking a gamblling spot where you are likely an underdog ( 70-30 or less) looks pretty +EV to me as at least 30% you win the game and if you lose you still have at least 50% to win (assuming you have an edge). That's why I am asking about the RELEVANCE of ALLiN GRAPH in HYPERS.Maybe Chadder will drop a line?
My graph was wrong, dunno what happened to the hud, now everything looks nice, i don't see and 50BI below 0 allinev, most was 15, now its 5Bi above(still under my winning graph).
After a session you need to close down holdemmanager2 and then open it again to see your true red EV line. If you don't do that the red line is always downward from the last time it was closed. Not sure if it's the same with holdemmanager 1 but I have 2 and always shut it and open it after a session and then it corrects itself. Don't know why.
"I said to control the allinev graph as you can put your money ahead but these situations you mention like having a 2:1 chip lead and taking a gamblling spot where you are likely an underdog ( 70-30 or less) looks pretty +EV to me as at least 30% you win the game and if you lose you still have at least 50% to win (assuming you have an edge). That's why I am asking about the RELEVANCE of ALLiN GRAPH in HYPERS."The all in EV graph is not a perfect metric, it is merely a better indication of your TRUE edge than your results.Yes, you can improve your red line if you wanted at the expense of "best strategy," but why would anybody do that at any meaningful stakes? Surely having a pretty red line graph is not worth near what it would likely cost to create one (assuming you were not a good player and you significantly wanted your results to make it look like you were). It can cost a lot to pass up opportunities with the middle and bottom part of your "correct play" ranges, and to only put in your money while ahead.
@deansterYes,I figured that out.@RypacThaks for the thoughts. I only opened this thread because HEM2 has bugs at the EV line as Deanster said above an I was totally confused about it. Now it's fixed and the redline is pretty much where itbelongs :) ~20BI below profit. Totally agree with the last part you mentioned, I'm still learining hypers after i played a few thousand normal speed with low 5 figures profit.Cheers.
