Hi, probably this is an old question but here it is again, with $175 bankroll on my Pokerstars account what stakes and type of HU SNG should I play?Thank you.By the way, I am very conservative with my bankroll.
The rake is too high on the hyper turbos below the $3.50 to recommend playing them, unless your bankroll is not important and you can replenish and you just want to play (but it doesn't sound like it to me and most people care about their bankrolls). The turbo speed rake below $3.50 is also high, but not unbeatable. I'd recommend playing $3.50 turbo or regular speeds to start. A patient but active (seemingly conflicting, but patience is required to deal with crazies, and actively adjusting to the information presented to you is the #1 requirement in this game) player should be able to do pretty well in those $3.50 regular speed games. The structure allows for a ton of potential edge and the average opponent is very poor. And at 6% rake, you're not much higher than the 5.1% in turbos. Also, for anybody out there that is wondering, the rake % is important, but so is the structure type. The deeper and slower the structure, generally the higher edge per match. So paying a 5% rake for a regular speed is going to be more favorable than paying a 4.5% in a hyper turbo match, hyper turbos last 2-3 minutes on average, whereas regular speeds last well over 10 minutes per match.
Thank you RyPac, I am inclined to start playing the $3,50 regular speed. I have been playing micro stakes cash games since December, (NL2 and NL5), overall and according to HM2, I am making 6 bb/100 after 180k hands. After cashing out some part of my bankroll and taking a huge downswing this month, I started to feel that I could return to heads up sits for a while. I always enjoyed them, but some how I abandoned them last year. If I decided to stick with HU siys for a while I will study the game and play many of them to put volume (but one table per session).Again, thanks for the feedback!
Don't want to create a new thread, so ill ask here. For someone who is more experienced(not a beginner at all) what would u suggest to play in the range of 3.5-7$, Turbo's, or hypers? or for that matter 4 mans
I'd suggest playing turbos if your goal is short term profit, unless you've had success in hypers before.Otherwise, if your plan is long term with an eye on becoming a professional, hyper turbos are where the most action is at, so that's probably your best bet.
Im asking because everyone at the 7$ turbo lvl is sort of tight-ish but not in a totally profitable way, more like tight aggresive...on stars at least.
I haven't played $7 turbos on Stars in years, but I would imagine your observation is likely the result of variance or that you're not seeing the extent of the leaks your opponents offer you in the $7s.If you're serious about it and still think the $7 players aren't offering much edge, email me some HHs and I'll take a quick glance and see if I'm seeing some major leaks from your opponents and try to point out a few in a fast, general, overview way (but the bulk of the value would be in realizing that there are more leaks than you imagined in these players, assuming I am correct). As for hyper turbos, $3.50 would be the lowest I'd recommend playing, 2.9% rake should be beatable for hard working new players.
I think it's just a feel that they are relatively tight(not spewy), ill get a bigger sample and then rethink about it:)...However i'm thinking about switching to hypers, but i'm not sure with what level to consider them worthy profit wise...but practically im reading through the lines of what u said, ur sort of suggesting that 7$-15$ are the lowest levels and the 3.5$ one is kinda meh:)thanks for the info

Good luck Luis, keep us posted if you stick with it.

At what limit you think hypers become worthy to play? Thanks for the answer:)
