After his bet on the flop should i raise to 120 and after his call just checking done till the showdown and folding every bet? i think my move on flop was very bad
I dunno, as played I like it. Did you determine roughly if he was a TAG, LAG? If he was a lag I would call flop and turn as played, If it was a TAG I may have folded the turn but it is marginal. He is c-betting any Ax hand any hand with a club, and most Kx hands and of course any Qx, Jx hands. the turn I would drop the most hands containing a club from his range that have not paired the board and the Ax hands that don't have a club.I am still at the 1.50's as well so maybe my reasoning above is why. Oh and when posting a hand you generally don't show the results as most won't bother posting if they see the results.thanks for posting the hand and I find all the people here are awesome.good luck at the tables.
volume is key in poker... when u play 2-5K + games, than these suckouts would look negligible....imo, calling villain down is standard, but i would fold if K,A,9,clubs hit... since villains donking range is composed of many SD+FD combos... imo u shouldve folded, turn, since i dont see any value range tht villain would take with on this board texture thts noit beating u...
Often times dudes who lead that small on flop and turn have some draws, OESD or flush draw on here, and they just want to see cheap next card. So I think both - flop call and turn call is good coz if u do raise those small bets it really sucks to get raised, specially on turn.If river comes something that do not compleate flushes or straights I do even like to make small value bet to get value out of hands like Jh9c, Qd9c if river is checkedBut I think u played this hand good
Flop only calling is good unless you see some merit to raise/folding.Turn should probably be a raise, unless we know he's super trappy or something. There's a limited amount of hands that bets like this that's actually beating us. I'd be looking to get value from draws and pair+draw ... It's very hard to argue for a raise looking into the second nut flush.River vbetting would be too thin. He could easily have a 9 or better 2pair.That's a fine result for the hand, perceiving it differently is actually an inner game problem that will lead to frustration + tilt. You should be fistpumping after dodging a bullet.
I like danzig's post here and basically agree. The only part of that post I'm hesitant to disagree with, is the turn. I wouldn't necessarily assume that straights and flushes won't make a small turn valuebet. It shouldn't, but one of the biggest lessons I've learned is that shouldn't does not really mean anything (if players played perfectly, ala, they made a large value bet on the turn, we wouldn't be playing this game or at least nobody would make money). One of the larger leaks I see people have, and these are thinking players trying to improve, is that they fail to value bet large enough, often in fear that players will fold.So while my first reaction was to raise the turn, I think it might be a little bit too aggressive on this board against an unknown opponent. I would basically say "good play OP, I agree with every street, you should be happy" as Danzig said (minus the turn).
