Now thinking about it, I think it would have been best to shove after a raise of 3x the bb. At the time I was trying to slowplay, but got too defensive when the Ace came on the flop. Should have chk/raised the flop.
I agree with your second post, with effective stacks of 12bb just shove over his 3x raise. I think his raise of 3x is mistake and should be punsished with a 3 bet shove and if the suck out comes so be it.thanks for posting the hand, as I still suffer from fancy play syndrome and need to reinforce to myself usually the most straight forward play is best.
Hi, Well, I also think 3bet shove PF was the best action. If Villain folds, getting 80 additional chips is still good in these hypers ;-)Anyway. as played, I wouldn't fold despite the possible flush or straight. We don't know much about Villain, but without any read on Villain, I would probably shove on his bet river. He might very well be on DP, Ax, smaller set.But shove preflop was best I think.Ciao

yup shove pre, checkraise flop.as played I call river, because odds are good (25%) and I can't really narrow down his range, and he's repping a narrow range. it would be nice to know something about his 3xing range, because if it's narrow than it's pretty much impossible for him to have air (in which case we should probably fold).that he has 2pair or a set is extremely unlikely(assume he doesn't), those bet the turn. and the river only improves kj kt k9 and we've got most kings, unlikely hand. So I assume his valuerange on the river is QJ QT mostly, which isn't that many combos either. (we can rule out AQ KQ and if he 3x worse than Q9 I think he'll have enough air on the river anyways). he doesn't have to turn up with air (or a badly played pair) that often to be bluffing more than 25% of the time. That said, I'd vbet the turn 160. We can get value from his weak one pair holdings which I assume is most of his range + control the bet sizing (if he would have bet bigger than 160 I would be uncomfortable).
