New to this and don't know how to convert hands from Cake...The more I think about it, I should have check-shoved after the flop. What's the right move? I don't love it readless, a mid to loose opener hits a lot of hands on this flop that will reraise/call on the flop and that turn card doesn't help matters much (overs with Qx, JT, QT, QJ).If he's a super wide opener and gives you respect, you do have plenty of hands that can hit this flop, so I can see the flop play being better in that scenario.
Checkshoving would be bad because you've got nothing. You'll get called and be crushed way too often. You could shove preflop if he seems to be opening wide.Checkraising air (A-high is air in this situation) without any idea of what he is doing loses money on average. First you should make sure that he opens wide and cbets often, than you have to judge if you'll get credit and he has a fold button. Then if you checkraise this it should be a one-barrel. On the turn the problem is we don't know what he's cbetting and what he's calling with. We don't know if he'll call off with a4o or only cbets for value and flatted 2pair on the flop. If he doesn't cbet too often checkraising air becomes uninteresting. If he doesn't open wide it becomes also a lot less interesting. If he doesn't have a fold button you can forget about it and if he won't give you credit it's better not to, suddenly he can call with everything and even rebluff.I think doing this readless is a serious leak in this format, since your investing a big chunk of your stacks in the dark with what is usually a 3 outer. Plus I don't think this format and these stakes attract people that like betfolding.
