vs. opponents that have less than 50% VPIP in the BB at 8 - 10bb. Given that villain flats 0% at 8 to 10bb and he's only 3bet jamming or folding. What adjustments do we make to our minraising range (that includes mr/fold and mr/call range)? - increase - decrease - minraise ATC How does the above answer differ for 10-12bb? Thanks
So shallow we only minbet to induce a shove and of course call it. The only exception is if he folds incredibly wide OR if he gives much more credit to a mr then to a oshove. But those kind of information require a SS of hands that we usually not have.
Hi.
If he is not flatting and only folding or shoving, and folding over 50% of the time, I believe you should be minraising any two cards, no matter what the stack sizes.
I honestly doubt that this 0% flating % is correct. If it WOULD be correct, that would mean that at 8 to 10 bb villain would NEVER call to a shove. So, our strategy should be: pushing AI with every hand is dominated by his 50% flatting range (83o and all that crap) and minraise every hand that dominates his 3bet range w/o fold equity. Hell no. IF he NEVER flats, we should minraise / call Aces only and open shove the other 99.5% directly. How likely is it that this would work? 0.1%?
Hi.
Ok its very easy to see that if hes folding + 3 beting less than 50% we make profit by minraising crap hand like 72o, if we fold it we are losing our SB, so why to fold it if we can make some 0.0... BB profit by minraising. If he calls so what, doesnt mean u have to c bet if you raised pre and u think board hits his rane hard.
Barrin I completely disagree with you. Minraise folding 8-10bb with trashy hands is very profitable compared to open folding them vs the average population, so in fact we need strong reads that villain 3bets very wide or flats very wide and plays back post flop. If you're only minraise folding value hands vs avg villain you're likely burning money (tho obv depends on your specific pop tendencies, i'm talking about ~30+ on stars perhaps at micros ppl 3b shove a lot because they like to get it in, I'm not sure). In this case, given our villains tight range we likely should me minraising in favor of limping as well. Whether we open shove or not depends on his calling range--what we do with the top of our range depends on which range (his call open shove or 3b shove) range is wider. We put our hands that induce well (Ax, pocket pairs, big Kx) vs the range that is wider, and put the semibluff type hands (suited connectors and other middling hands that shove well) vs the tighter range. Then everything left over we minraise/fold.
