I am mainly a turbo sng player. My favourite format is 9s and my grinding stake is 15$s. The game is literally drying up with many regulars in each game making this format very difficult and the low volume you can get. Even though the tough game i have 4% ev roi in more than 10k games. Now i gather information about other formats to learn so i can see if it is profitable to change $ wise. My hourly rate is 19$/hr post rakeback (i am supernova). I will not bother change unless i can achieve 30$/hr in the new format. So here are my questions1) Is 30$/hr possible in 30$ hypers while 1 tabling, if no what should be a reasonable $/hr while 1 tabling this stake?2)Is 30$/hr possible in 60$ hypers while 1 tabling, if no what should be a reasonable $/hr while 1 tabling this stake? I will post more questions when these two have some answers. Thank you for taking time replying me. Run good
I think a reasonable roi is about 2-4% at those stakes. Your average match last 3-4 minutes so you can do the math yourself.
So it is definitely doable having this $/hr . THank you for the responseMy other questions now1) I will begin play in 30$s hypers. I will drop down if i play/run bad. Which is the best way to start learning videos and/or articles/book etc?Keep in mind. I never play hu hyper before and i have no clue about the strategy required

Just be aware that you are switching to a super high variance structure and you will run bad over a long period. The question is how you will deal with the downswings.Since you've never played HU hypers, you will have to learn the intricacies of the format, though your learning curve will be smaller than someone who has no HU experience. I recommend devoting a certain amount of time each week to studying the game, maybe also get involved with a study group.$30/hour seems like the high end for $30 hypers, I"m not sure how Stars plays cause I play on Lock so I only get 12-13 games per hour, but even if you're averaging 20 games per/hour on Stars you're gonna have to be one of the top regs to make that much bank.
Two tabling he should be able to get 25 games per hour or so in per hour if he's grinding hard on Stars.I like Zachaser's comments though. These are numbers for good regulars, maybe not the very best at the stakes, but close. If you're doing 2-4% in the $30s and 60s, you're a very good player at that level.I think the main thing though, is if you're not playing at the $30s and higher in turbos and that's your main game, jumping into hypers at those levels is going to be a bad idea.Further, if your games are filled with regulars and that is the main problem, not a lack of action, but a lack of action from fish, then you're likely going to feel at least as intimidated/reggy in the $30s and $60s right now at your skill level. It does worry me a bit that you call the lower levels reggy, it might be better to really work on improving your ROI to 5-10% in the lower level turbos first, and then add in some hyper turbos at about half the buyin level you're regularly playing in turbos. If you're supernova I could be a little pessimistic in my comments here, depending on if you achieved that supernova at these low level HUSNGs (if you are playing tons of volume a lower ROI makes sense and is OK).
He is regular on the 9player $15 STT-SNG, therefore lots of advice in this thread seems ill advised and / or based on the assumption that he would have played the Turbo HU SNG. And yes, the 9player STT-SNG are very reg infested (about 3 to 5 regulars in each $15 sng).@OP: You might wanna start out reading mersennary's Ebook.
Hi.
Oh wow, nice catch Barrin.Yes, Barrin is right, take what Zachaser and I said and multiple it a few levels on the conservative/dim expectations side.It doesn't mean you shouldn't play hypers, but definitely be realistic and motivated, a difficult combination to have (a lot of "cloud in the sky" thinking drives players to begin playing, of which some end up doing well but most not so well).
I started in the 9max sngs myself and slowly started to play more and more HU. For me HU was a completely new game in the beginning and I was pretty clueless about ranges. Right now im playing full time HU and loving it. I can recomment you to buy the Chadders0 hyper turbo pack since that will learn you all the basics you need to know to get started. I also really enjoyed Mersenneary's videos. Like the others are saying, spend some time every week learning. Make the switch once you know your a winner and you really want to play these games.
Is the free ebook worth reading when playing hu hypers or it is more for turbo/normal speed?
It's more for hypers if anything, but it's really about how to approach heads up poker hands, whether 10bb deep or 50bb deep, in game or out of game. Lots of details of course, but it covers a very wide base.
