I know everyone says to 2x, but I saw some regs 3xing. If we dont worry about being exploited, whats the advantage, and what hands could we 3x in a hyperturbo?
I don't think there is an advantage to 3x-ing in hypers. You're putting an extra BB out there to be taken by a villain who can exploit you by 3betting wide. Also villain has to flat <33% of the time I think before raising any 2 becomes profitable (as opposed to <50% for a min raise) making their range stronger (usually).Have a play with Genher's 3bet calculator and you can see that changing the open raise size from 2x to 3x increases the number of hands that jam be 3bet shoved profitably all other things being equal.Of course if villain is a moron, 3x your stronger hands
I wasn't asking weather I should 3x in normal situations. I was more curious in which situations it could be profitable, against what opponents and with what cards so that I can gain an edge against those fish. High pocket pairs only? AK? I didn't make myself clear enough sorry. But thanks for the reply :)
If villain has no idea what you are doing, 3x your best hands to build a pot. Big pairs and aces, strong broadway (KQ, KJs). Depends on how wide villain will call but the wider they call the more you can open up your value range.
