I'm sorry to hear that.
You haven't found Coffeeyay's Math Pack, Tipton's Video Pack, Elliot Roe's material, Barewire's advanced class nor the Masters pack up to our usual quality?
yea ... I should explain more why I feel like it
it s just that before the big change on the site, there were more contents first ... some of the names still on couple of them are not up to date anymore ...
everything is Hyper turbo only ... turbo's or reg speed video are only 30, 50$ regs ... , math pack is ok but it s more of the old era period (before the big change on the site), tipton's pack is def not as good as his book, (he is showing how he uses his software to detect and adjust to leaks, and doesn't want to share his soft, which says : "u see guys ! how my soft is good and how I use it ? Goo luck and try to find something similar for u!)
Elliot Roe's material is "ok" ... had it from another site while ago ... barewire 1s t pack is ok, the second one doesn't go in super deep thought process imo, and a lot of spot feels unclear after his reasoning, masterpack , has weak contents from hokie, and mers saying 24o is too good of a hand to fold at 2bb deep ! (just kiddin there but it s my feeling ...lol) def not as good as I would think ... and bernard's video pack is excellent I admit that ...
so I just wanna say that this site is good , the contents is still ok, but we don't see H2olga anymore, ph33rox, or any top guys as much as it used to be
for example on early days there was croixdawg, skates, hokie playin isildur, mers playin all the top regs, etc .... felt like we could get in the mind of the best of that time.
Maybe my vision ain't right, and I m the only one to have it and in this case don't pay attention to what I say ... but just wanted to share my feeling and hear what couple other people would think about it compared to how it was ...
but overall thanks for creating this site awhile ago ....
Ok that is a more clear explanation.
We will have more turbo stuff coming out very soon, and Hokie Mers hyper packs individually very shortly.
I understand what you're saying about Croixdawg and Skates. Croixdawg videos though, honestly, were not even considered as good as xSCWx, Skates or Hokie's in their day from the $100-500 regs, though they were still good quality, I just didn't hear that "wow that really opened my eyes" like I did for the others.
Ph33rox might do more videos soon, Will Tipton actually coaches him and Ph33rox stopped making videos here and took a break from poker for awhile.
Tipton's software isn't that he doesn't want to share it, it is not for sale anymore (the free version works, but has limitations). He's not purposedly witholding information from anyone.
We're constantly getting the best minds that are available to teach today though. You're right, some guys don't want to coach, make videos or do anything except play. That's the reality, and sometimes guys credit our content for helping them get up to higher stakes and don't credit their own work ethic. Others are afraid to teach others, afraid that it will allow them to be exploited. And others feel more comfortable and in control if they are teaching people 1 on 1 in very small groups (even if that teaching has a much stronger impact and higher chance of purely turning someone into a top reg). It is a difficult task to work with sometimes, but I do feel confident we still have the top 95% husng content online at any given time. It's not like other sites are taking good instructors from us or anything like that.
We'll continue to work hard to bring you top guys. But some things do require a certain perspective. Coffeeyay may only be a $100 reg, but he teaches 1k regs how to analyze their own databases and how to get the most out of the information in PT and HUDs. Mers has a better perspective on how to improve ones game than he did 2 years ago. Same with Hokie. Like I said, Ph33rox took a break and Tipton coaches him.
You may have also grown a lot as a player and there aren't as many "shocking" things you're learning compared to 2 years ago. That certainly happens. When a top player tells me the EV of raising a hand instead of open jamming it at 9bb is higher, it's not a shock to me. After going through all of Mers vids awhile ago, finding flaws in your own assumptions is no longer a surprise to me, so when someone tells me something new and it is evidenced based, it's just a lesson, rather than an eye opening experience for me. I remember in 2008, realizing that minraising was better than 2.5-3xing at short stacks seemed like an eye opener to me. I'm no saying this is definitely what is happening with you, but it may play a part too.
u have good arguments ... u right from the top to the end ... but to me it also feels like I don't get to see videos which help me get my confidence back :
usually when I m on a downswing I use to watch a video from a top reg vs another sick player ... and I would get all pumped up again and want to play and focus really hard ...
now I also like theory video , concept video etc ... but it s fun to watch super reg vs super tough playa ... and I miss that .
I agree it s the only site with good content on husng,. All the other ones have crappy shits
You do hit on a good point. We've moved away from the "facing big name reg" type videos in the last 6 months.
A lot of that is just variance. Heybude was making vids for awhile and we had a lot of games and hands vs big names to review. HokieGreg also was playing 1ks on PS pre black friday, so he had that series of vids as well.
We don't particularly focus on that stuff as much as maybe we should (for one, it's great exposure to newer players when they see known opponents), but it's something I should make a point to get a little bit more of. It's tough for non hypers though, since turbo action has declined quite a bit while hyper action has exploded. We're still hoping to have a high stakes turbo pack coming out this late spring or summer, and within that we should have reg wars videos.
We of course have some stuff like Chadders playing a reg in the hyper turbo masters pack, and Carryhero as well, but we'll try to get some stuff like "playing vs Ike" in future packs because you're right we haven't had many of those types of videos in awhile.
"Tipton's software isn't that he doesn't want to share it, it is not for sale anymore (the free version works, but has limitations). He's not purposedly witholding information from anyone."
is this software Gambit? if yes, what sort of limitations does it have?
Hi
Just saw your comment on my Mp3's
The HUSNG Mp3 I released here has only been released on this website (I don't even offer it on my own site). If you've bought it elsewhere please let me know who is selling that product.
Obviously I would rather everyone thought they were amazing so please PM me if you have any specific feedback.
They are a $25 dollar product that are most effective when used daily, so I feel the offer a lot of value vs a book or video that you may only read/watch once or twice.
Good luck at the tables
Elliot
IMO husng.com is holding up a very high standard. The one thing that I have seen changing for the worse was the community itself. But then again...this is not a big surprise, considering the fact that the same questions are asked over and over again and ... at the end of the day we all are opponents.
Furthermore; husng.com seems not to 'fight' for the right to be the one and only husng.com-forum...they work together with the 2+2 husng forum very well and eventually this is exactly what is good for the community itself.
Thanks Barrin. You're right, we've put resources into videos (and the free ebook for example) rather than the forum, simply because the one good thing that has existed in the HUSNG world, even before HUSNG.com existed, was the 2p2 heads up sng forum. Having a good relationship with 2p2 as a volunteer moderator allowed 2p2 to feel comfortable enough to allow me to become the first strategy forum advertising sponsor on their site, and it has worked out good for all parties. Traffic on 2p2's heads up sng forum has grown since we started sponsoring it, it's one of the few strategy forums that seems to be more healthy today than a few years ago.
While other training sites don't do anything like this, many of them don't even have super active communities either.
That said, it's nice to see that traffic on our forums has increased in the last 6 months, quite considerably. We may look at ways to make the forum more active and to keep co-existing with the 2p2 heads up sng forum. But the #1 priority is always new videos and strategy content and we don't want to waste investment into duplication.
Hypers are the boom now so most of the vids is from hypers. You cant blame the site itself for it, its just everyone playing them. Probably most players who start to play husngs would at least try turbos if most of the advice would not be like hypers are more fish, more action up to higher stakes and stuff.
One big thing is just that we had two guys that were making turbo packs back out/get delayed too. So I kind of mentioned in advance that their packs were planned, but then they kind of bailed so some guys like LD that are veterans here might've gotten their hopes up (I now try not to announce things I don't have in my posession or aren't made by guys like Mers who are nearly 100% reliable with things). But you are right, turbos do have less action. You can see our little traffic bar on the right hand side of this site, and that's the type of ratio we plan to have on this site long term (1 turbo pack for ever 5-6 hyper packs). We're not going to make decisions purely by that ratio, but I would be surprised if we had 1 turbo pack for 10 hyper packs in a year, (or the opposite, 1 for 1).
What software that is displayed in the video is not available anymore? Is it something that would affect a lot applying the theories shown on the videos?
I'm sorry to hear that.
