Can someone explain these lines to me:
1) calling 3bet with J5s
2) calling 3bet with 53s
3) t25 bet into t80 pot and massive overbet on the river
Thank you
1&2: probably versus villains 3bet ranges, calling a 3bet has better expectation then -2bb/hand (which is expectation of folding)
3: overbet on the river is for value & hero's perceived range still contains a bunch of bluffs so he will get called of by worse, 25 into 80 pot bet is a cheaper bluf then something like 40 into 80chip pot amd maybe hero's std bet on this boardtexture and creates just as much fold equity then a slightly bigger sizing versus hands with no showdownvalue (but still have 6 outs)
Well, I understand calling 3bet with J5s but how could he call 3bet with 53s? Ofc that calling is better that folding, but I am not sure if hero can be at least BE with this hand.. Is it +EV? Because all he can hit is a 3x, 5x and some str8 draws (not so many, cause it is a bottom of card deck) + flush draws. And if he hits a pair, it is very likely that there will be overcards.
He does have 34 dominated though.... :)
