This player floats a lot, on the river we are obviously beat by trips but the questions is how can I minimize damage here? I thought of checking behind on the turn with my top pair but then thought about loosing value against worst 8s 3x or 55-77. What do you think? Can we give him 2x to his calling range when his VPBB is 53 (A2, 32 maybe...)

As played a check behind on the river is better imo.

I would bet more on flop

I would bet more on flop (about 120, 3/4 of the pot) then the pot would be 400 on the turn. I would further bet more on the turn (about 300, again 3/4). On the river I would think about shoving or checking behind, depending on his stats and the history between you. His raise looks weird to me. I think he would Donk the river with trips or a set/fullhouse. I personally would be afraid that my villain checks behind and i lose value. His raise looks like AK, KQ, KJ, midpair or missed flushdraw.

If you wana minimize damage,

If you wana minimize damage, and by that im sure you mean tricky river situations when you get checkshoved on you should check turn and call river.  You get value on the river from his floats that missed and now think your weak and you get value from his busted draws like 45 that have no showdown and have to bluff to win the hand.  If he does have a hand like ace 2 like i suspect here you dont bloat the pot on the turn and lose the min.  If guys a total nit but with no bluffs in him i would just played hand like you did, prob betting less on river to get called from his weak pairs that are scared of king x and fold to a shove.
