My Comeback

Hi All,

I am considering making a return to HU Sngs (and poker in general), so thought I would post abit of an intro.

I used to play on fulltilt under 'knoxxxy1' mainly back in 2010 and 2011. I started out crushing $5 and $10 HU sngs, before gradually progressing to $20's and $30's where I maintained approximately a 12% ROI. My graph is below:

I realised that if I were to put in a high volume of games and really dedicate some time that I could show some significant profits. However I ended up finding this to be abit too much of a grind, so naturally I attempted to raise the stakes and try my luck at $50 games. It was at this stake that I hit abit of a wall, I couldn't do more than break even for whatever reason, my graph filtered to this stake is below:

Whether I was playing differently or more timidly due to the raising stakes, or whether my game plan just wasn't working against the better opponents i'm not sure, what I am sure of is that I want to try again and improve my game. I think my main weakness was probably my aggression preflop, I didn't like 3betting and 4betting too much preflop because I liked to exploit my opponent postflop. I found being too aggressive preflop meant I would get stuck in large pots in marginal situations, So i tried to avoid large pots where I could preflop. My push / shove game when the blinds got up I think was good, but it probably could have been better.

So my first question:

How much tougher has the game got since 2011? How much has it changed?

I am thinking of playing mid stakes on Pokerstars, and probably looking at playing turbos just because they are abit quicker and I think I need to work on my aggression preflop, playing 3betted hands out of position etc etc. Can anyone recommend a good training package that would suit me?

Cheers,

Ben

a lot of turbo action has

a lot of turbo action has gone into hyper turbos. still, at mid stakes you should get enough volume.
~200 games is like not even a sample size to evaluate. just keep going and don't be scared money when moving up.

I agree with Knut. And for

I agree with Knut.
And for turbo video packages, the premium pack (has all types of vids, but lots of turbo) and Greenbast Turbo Pack are your best options.
