The HUSNG hand converter doesn't seem to work for me :(

This was second hand I'd played against villain, is it standard to go broke here readless?

I think you need to slow down once he calls the flop and then the board connects.
The number of potential hand combinations which he can call the flop with and are which are beating you after the turn and river is just staggering. I would list them but it will take too long.
Hope that helps.
So is bet, check, call better in this situation? Or am I meant to find a fold on the river?
The great thing about checking the turn once he has called is that if he is calling light he may think he is ahead or, more importantly, that you think he may be ahead even if he isn't. So the thing to do is check the turn really quickly to give the impression that your cbet was a bluff and that you want nothing more to do with the hand IF the turn is relatively harmless. Now if he bets the river you can confidently call him because you have now induced some bluffs & semi bluffs and for the times that you are facing a value bet you have correctly controlled the pot.
BUT if the turn card is dangerous like this one was you need to take a deep breath and wait. This gives the impression that you have a decision to make which implies you may well of improved with the turn card. Then, as before, check. Now if he bets the river you know he is doing so knowing that you might have improved yourself. Which would be brave on his part were he to be bluffing. And most poker players aren't really all that brave imo.
