Filming yourself?

Hello PBogz, great video......look forward to seeing the others
I was wondering the best way to film your play? Is there a programme online that films your screen or is it a camera based set up?

I'm happy someone ask that

I'm happy someone ask that question because it's the first time I can give a good advice on a forum : Go for screen recorder 1.0

I have tested a dozen software and only camtasia is close to it and if I recall correctly camtasia isn't free. Other programs made my computer crash or the video's were so big in size my harddrive was full in 1 hour.

Just make sur to uninstall the 2-3 shits that this software will install with it (or just unbox the box when you are installing) and it also changed my google chrome main page which is kinda annoying  but is easily resolvable.

I'm really happy about this software because others almost destroyed my computer like srsly destroy it.

Hey

For me Camtasia  is the way to go, but you can find any other software that will do the trick! As long as you can watch yourself play its fine. No need to make it look pretty because it is for your use only!

Is there a free downloadable

Is there a free downloadable version of camtasia or another screen capturing and recording tool or is buying a programme the only option?

Thanks, Ben

Camtasia studio has a free 30

Camtasia studio has a free 30 day trial on techsmith.com. It's the full program.
If you're just going for personal use, then it's not worth the $300 cost to buy the program outright, so then I would recommend just working with CamStudio (unrelated program, free open source). It's bulkier, larger files, audio can sometimes not sync properly with video, but it works fine and if you're just recording your own play, you can use this just fine.
There's other stuff like screencast, and a few other programs. I'm not up to date on most of them, as I just bought the newest version of camtasia when it came out last year and it works well for me.

Was interesting to see you

Was interesting to see you covering pot odds at the end of the video.
Can you show real world examples of where pot odds is applicable in hyper turbos husng ?
I was determined to understand pot odds correctly, and maybe I failed, but with half size pot bets and over being the norm, stack to pot ratios, I never really found spots where it was possible to use pot odds to my advantage ???
Therefore how often does pot odds come into benift in your game ? I know that even once in a hundred games would be an advantage, but still I after studying it for some time, I couldn't quite see the advantage in the real world play, theoretically it makes sense sure.
Again, any real world examples would be really interesting to see ??
Thanks for the vid !

I'm not 100% sure what you

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "real world" but pot odds can work in many different factors. For example, if your opponent is underbetting the turn, It can allow you to call in a spot where you usually would have to fold because the bet by villain would price us out of the pot. Pot odds allows us to understand if we are calling to wide with are draws etc. Using pot odds can plug leaks and also be used as an advantage when playing other players. If you know that your villain calls to wide OOP you can exploit his leak by overbetting the pot because he "doesn't" understand pot odds. When your capable of knowing when you made a bad call. It allows you to become a better overall player.

Hope this helps!

Hey Pbogz !Thanks for the

Hey Pbogz !
Thanks for the reply.
By real world, I mean in game, at the tables when your actually playing, not theoretically.
I've found that the general population at micro stakes are very rarely underbetting and maybe that's why I'm not feeling the value of pot odds.
But your explanation allowing you to become a better overall player I think is whats important here.
So far I'm still really failing by my thought process being to brittle, it's either wrong or right, and it takes me a long time to become a thinking poker player.

Thanks for your help.

You have to understand that

You have to understand that you are playing people not robots. Understanding what they are doing is very important. If you see that they are doing something wrong, you can exploit it. Even when they are doing something correctly, knowing that they have a good "poker mind" allows you to be even more creative and out witt your opponent.
